I know I am jumping on this topic early but is anyone else excited about the upcoming ability to apply to USF? Lets get to know each other! Share a little about yourself. We can also talk about the application process, writing sample, gpa, facts/things you have heard, concerns/thoughts, other schools your applying, ect.

Lets get a conversation going! Go bulls!!

What were the 3 questions you wrote about?

Pretty much why I wanted to be a nurse, what study habits I planned on incorportating and experiences that contribute to the nursing profession. Which three questions did you write about?

These are the 3 questions they emailed me on canvas:

Personal Statement

Questions

1. What motivates you to pursue nursing as a profession?

2. You have a bias against pregnant women who smoke. You have a patient who is pregnant and smoking. How do you reconcile your bias to care for this patient?

3. You are in a clinical experience at the hospital. At the end of the day, your fellow student states that she was too afraid to give the patient a bed bath and didn't do it. A few minutes later, your clinical instructor comes to the floor. She asks your fellow student if she completed all of the tasks for the day. The student says, Yes and I documented everything, even the bed bath”. How would you approach this situation?

That is so interesting. I will have to contact someone at CON to figure that out.

Definitely do that. Did your status in SOAR change?

My status did not change either

I initially answered the questions about the bias and reporting. Then when I went to SOAR it gave a different set of questions. I changed my essay based on the SOAR link. I'm not too concern since my GPA is not high. I have a 3.75 on prerequisites, but my overall is much lower. How do they calculate your overall GPA? Do they look at the last 60 credit hours? I have 180+ credits completed from three colleges in the last two decades. I did poorly in the 90's and they are a permanent part of my record. However, the last 60 hours I completed at USF is 3.89.

I applied at HCC and SCF for the associates as a backup.

To my knowledge for the overall, the school goes by the GPA that is posted in your degree works audit and not the most recent credits received, the same going for the prerequisites. I say this due to USF emphasizing they do not having a time limit on classes, compared to other colleges that only accept classes if they are less than a certain number of years old.

I just opened up another application to verify that the personal statement questions had not changed. Sure enough they are the exact same ones from the past. I am not sure why I am not seeing the new questions. Have you attended USF before?

Yes I am currently in the Patho class .

I just got the email about the essay questions, too. So, to be clear, these are the questions we need to answer?
