UCF Basic BSN Applicants Spring 2015 Cocoa/ Daytona Campus

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello there!

I will be applying to UCF's Basic BSN program that starts in the spring of 2015 at the Cocoa and Daytona campuses. The application window is from July 15th to August 16th. Anyone else planning to apply? :)

I'm not sure what kind of GPA would be good enough for my TEAS score to be acceptable, and I don't want to post what my GPAs are until my summer classes end and I know for sure. I'm just so worried because I see a lot of people in previous years post about how they have a 4.0, I know this is a lot less competitive than the main campus, but still.

Good luck on your next attempt!

I didn't know we needed a background check. How did everyone else find this our?

When you go into the actual application, there is a link at the bottom of the page to the directions. It is pretty self explanatory from there.

I would start soon. The background check requires you to go somewhere to get your fingerprints scanned. I had to make an appointment for mine.

From what I know and have heard, a competitive GPA for the regional campuses is a 3.5 or above. And a competitive TEAS score is an 85 and above.

Yet, from talking with advisors, some students get in with surprisingly low GPA's and scores.

Ahh thank you so much! I have been studying so much that I haven't actually had much time to read through the full application.

Alright so my stats are

Pre-req gpa: 3.5

Overall: 3.8

Teas: 87.3

I am super nervous because everyone seems to have a 4.0 prereq GPA. I am applying to the Seminole State, Daytona State, and Cocoa programs.

All of my pre-reqs are completed and I received my AA from UF.

I don't know why you're nervous, seems like with those stats you'll get in.

I am finishing up my A.A. from Daytona State by the end of the summer. My stats are:

Pre-Req GPA: 3.88

Overal GPA: 3.8

TEAS: 82.0

I think my teas is kind of low, but at least it's four points higher than what UCF asked for. I've been worrying all throughout the nursing pre-reqs and it's safe to say that I am done worrying. I gave it my best and think I have a pretty decent shot of getting in. Best of luck to all of you.

Well, looks like I will not be joining the Daytona Ucf program this spring....:( I got a 77.3% on the teas all because I ran out of time on the math portion.... ironically I was getting the questions right, but I just wasn't fast enough. I got within the mid to high 80s on all the other portions... :( im just really ticked... I even got 100% in the physical science area!! super bummed out!!! Im taking it again in 30 days and applying for the Seminole state concurrent program. In the meanwhile im going to try to speed up on my math skills!!!Good luck to all..

I read in a previous forum that someone had a high GPA but her teas also wasn't a 78... She got on the wait list then ended up getting in cause someone else chose not to go. Just send in an app! You never know what could happen :)

I am sending in the application anyway!! I figured it wont hurt!! my gpa is a 3.8!! im only a godforsaken 1/2 point away from the required teas score!! makes my blood boil!!
