Hello there!
I will be applying to UCF's Basic BSN program that starts in the spring of 2015 at the Cocoa and Daytona campuses. The application window is from July 15th to August 16th. Anyone else planning to apply? :)
I am applying for UCF Daytona for spring 2015!! I am also going to try Seminole State's concurrent program that is also in the spring if I don't make into Daytona!! I can't believe the application cycle begins next week!! Im so excited an nervous at the same time! Cant wait to get this process started! Good luck to all! :)
Kaylalala,
I am currently a nursing student at UCF Daytona. The first semester will be busy! You will have two rounds of clinicals in addition to 4 classes. There are a lot of projects due the first semester and you should plan on studying 2-4 hours a night. There is a TON of reading to do, so make sure you don't fall behind; playing catch-up on readings adds unnecessary stress! Monday we had 3 classes and were at school from 830-330. Wednesday we had one class and two labs, making our hours 8-2:30. Thursday and Friday are clinical days. The first half of the semester is the community clinical and the last half is long term care. You will be with the same group of people for both rounds of clinicals and you will get really close :). I'm not sure if they plan on changing anything, but this is how my first semester went. The days seem long at first, but you're given roughly an hour break for lunch. I found it helpful to use my breaks wisely and get some reading time in. Let me know if you have any further questions! Good Luck to you all!!!
Hi everyone! I'm taking my teas exam in 2 weeks for my application. Does anyone have any tips as to what is the most important thing to focus on in regards to the science? I have the ATI manual and I have been studying the topics more in depth and I'm a little nervous about the chemistry section
Hello everyone! I am also applying for the Daytona program. I am a little nervous because I am finishing my AA next week, taking my TEAS next week, and submitting an application then. I leave for a cruise the 9-16, of course the deadline. Hoping to get everything in ASAP.
Good luck to everyone! Looking forward to keeping in touch here :)
I am almost finished with all the application requirements too, but I just have to take the teas. I am planning on taking it at Seminole state this Saturday, its only like 50 bucks compared to 70 bucks at ucf, and you don't have to make an appointment! Id rather pay to transfer the test to ucf since I will need it for Seminole state anyway if I don't make it into Daytona. I am really nervous about the test though! I have been finishing up Spanish I and Spanish II all while studying for this teas over the summer!! All of this on top of my four year old and 12 year old!! The summer has been crazy! I am just glad that it will all be over with by the end of this week and then I can finally take a break. Maybe a mini vacay!!
I bought the full ati package including the two test that are in the book and two test that are on the website. I am focusing more on science. I feel like im pretty strong in math, English, and reading... I just finished chemistry in may so I feel like that part is fresh in my brain. The biology parts I need some major refreshing. I will definitely let everyone know how it goes after this weekend!!!
I'm debating on whether or not to take my TEAS again. I've already tried twice, my first time I got an 82.7, and I tried again but didn't put much time into studying again so I scored a lot lower. I know they take your highest score but I'm not sure if what I have is good enough. It is another $70, an hour long drive, and more time for studying which I'm not sure I have (I'm finishing up 3 summer courses right now). So would it be worth it? I know I'd really really regret not retaking it if I don't get accepted.
Also who has already finished the background check?
I finished my background check. I took the teas once a month ago without studying and got a 74. So Ive been trying to study and I'm taking it again next Thursday. Honestly I'm hoping for like 80-85. My GPA is pretty high, so I feel like if you are high in one or the other it should be okay. Hoping anyways. I hear daytona is least competitive but still. If you study it probably wouldn't hurt taking it again. Just in case.
