Looking for good hospitals between Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale

U.S.A. Florida

I'm looking for information on good hospitals between Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale. i know it's a large area to cover but I was hoping that I could get some good information from here. I plan on moving down there somewhere between those two cities depending on where I get a job. I've done some research online, but first hand experiences are always much better than trying to figure stuff out from online. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking specifically for hospitals with Labor and Delivery units, but will take information on any hospital that anyone would like to share with me. Once again. Thanks!!

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies is an excellent facility for labor and delivery, across the street from Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital. Have heard nothing but good things from here. It's in Orlando.

forget daytona - halifax isn't hiring. try orlando instead.

I don't want to be in Daytona, I just want to be somewhere between Daytona and Fort Lauderdale. I would like to be closer to Fort Lauderdale.

Specializes in jack of all trades.

Ormond Memorial Medical Center is hiring experienced L&D nurses (associated with Florida Hospital) in Ormond Beach near Daytona. Halifax just layed off over 160. Most of the hospitals anywhere near the Central Florida area are hiring experienced only (with in-hospital only). Not sure about Southern Florida. Broward in Ft. Lauderdale is another to consider (believe level 1).

I would like personal opinions and experiences from patients and medical staff (nurses and docs) point of views on hospitals in that area, especially for rare conditions and/or hard to dx. conditions.

It looks like we are moving to that area.

How is the Mayo Clinic?

TIA.

If ur in fort lauderdale try Broward General Hospital, I have a friend whose been there for about three years and she LOVES IT. Great benefits and they are hiring. check out www,browardhealth.org and click on careers, then select Broward general

Thanks for the information. I have been looking at Broward General a lot. Fort Lauderdale is where I want to be when I move down there.

Specializes in Oncology/Haemetology/HIV.

I generally do not care for working in the Palm Beach area, just about Ft.Lauderdale. There tends to be a excessive focus on "customer service" to the detriment of good nursing/medical care. Many of the patients in that area have SERIOUS entitlement issues.
