FCCJ SPRING 2010

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I know it is a little early, but anyone plan on applying for FCCJ's spring 2010 program?? If I can get my Nat points up and if I do well in Micro this summer , I will be ready to apply!!!:yeah:Finally!!

Does anyone know what the schedule is like once the program starts? Like is it m-f 8am-6pm or what?

Has anyone had their photo taken yet that we need to turn in with everything? I went and got the passport photo at Wal-greens and they used a digital camera, and on the list of specifications it says no digital cameras. So I called around, and apparently everyone uses digital cameras for the photos? Just wondering what everyone else was doing?

Okay I talked with a very reliable friend that is high up in worksource! She called FCCJ and was told all letters have been mailed out!

Hey Christina-

I THINK they meant like a camera you would have . But I could be wrong.

Thanks Theresa that's what I was thinking, too late now, I've already got them. :)

I got mine taken today at CVS and it was fine. Just tell them you need a passport photo, and that will meet all the requirements for this photo.

I will !!! I live at the beach , which is nice, but like I was telling Janobia I think I am the furthest away from that campus, lol. And I have a lease. But I think I have someone I can carpool with, but I was thinking we can still add more people to the car pool. If anyone is interested!!! I think Janobia is right on the way off Merrill or somehting near there, right? A good meeting place! go green!

We can definitely carpool Theresa. I live on Southside, so maybe we could meet at the town center or something and just jump on JTB. We'll see how the first few days go, we might have to find the quickest route to miss the traffic. Morning traffic on JTB and 95 is not good.

I went to the Northside Medical Clinic this morning to have my titers drawn and it was quick and painless. It cost $117 for the three titers and the results will take at least a week. I will be going back next week for my results, the drug test, physical exam, and PPD. Does anyone know if they give the Pertussis vaccine and if we have that vaccine do we need tetorifice too? I will pass on information about the cost so if anyone is interested in getting it done there you will have an idea about the expense. Thanks Stephanie09 for your input, it is nice to know what to expect.

jkvanso,

Did they tell your friend when they mailed out the last of the letters? (today or Friday)??? Looks like my chances have withered away...:crying2:. I'm amazed that the cutoff must be soooo high this term...! Just my luck.LOL.. But, that deserves a "hat's off" and a big "congratulations to all those that made it! :D:yeah::bow::balloons::w00t:

Okay, so my friend, love her heart, is either telling the truth or I was lied to today while at North Campus. I personally drove there to find out what the heck is going on! Not that they gave me ANY information that I was looking for, but they did answer a few questions.

First, it appears NOT all the acceptance or denial letters have gone out. Today is only the "deadline to accept" for those in the "first batch" of acceptance letters that were mailed out last week (emails were sent to that first batch also). The lady would not tell me what the "cut off" points were or how many people applied to the program. She said that information will be announced only when ALL letters have gone out. She also said that the nursing department has until next Wednesday (before the holiday) to have ALL letters out. In addition to all of that news, the whole small/large envelope rumor is not going to help this semester either. She said that they ran out of envelopes and some will get small ones and some will get big ones. She said that some people may get multiple letters! Who knows! She did say that the confusion is partly contributed to a new Director that is in transition.

I don't feel any better or worse after talking with her. Just flustered. Im assuming she won't give out point cutoff info because that number still may change depending on who accepts and declines their "seat". So, as for those of us that haven't heard one way or the other......turn your thoughts to what you're eating for Thanksgiving! Since, after all, that is a SURE thing that will be here next Thursday :D
