Why life goes on

Nurses New Nurse

Yesterday was probably one of the worst day of my life. Today is a better today, tomorrow will become better and so on and on. I do have optimism left. It took a lot of energy to pull it out back on top but I knew deep down inside that I have some left and have to keep fighting.

I e-mailed the nursing recruiter yesterday and she told me I could remain in GN status until my 90 days is up or until I receive my official results in the mail from the state. She told me you never know the unofficial results could be wrong. I HIGHLY doubt that though. Then once I get my official results I will be dropped down to "special" PCT status. Which means I can do more than a regular PCT under proper legal guidelines defined by the state nursing practice act. My pay will also be dropped but will be slightly a little bit more than a regular PCT but not much. I hope I will remain full time because I REALLY need the benefits.

Yesterday I hated the fact of being dropped down to PCT I really never worked as a PCT at that hospital and from what the other Pct's where saying it is horrible but I will not let that affect me. I should be blessed and today I realized that I am blessed to have a job with the unemployment rate the way it is and how people are having a hard time finding a job. My Mom happens to be one of the people who have been laid off for almost 2 years now and is still having a hard time finding a job. She is 51 years old and only has a high school diploma so naturally she is going to be passed up for someone younger and has more education. So looking at things like that I feel bless and thank God for.

I am going to be able to still send my daughter to private school thank goodness because the public schools around here are horrible. I will have to put off getting my new car for a bit longer probably but that will be OK. At least I will have a chance to save more money for a down payment and help lower the payments with putting down a larger down pay ment.

Thank you for all your support. This board is really a strong board. I will keep every one up dated. Good news is I will not go any where. So I will be around supporting everyone else around here too.

Way to go Tonya. Hang in there!

Glad to hear your positive attitude. Hang in there. You'll get it next time!

I'm sorry you didn't pass the first time, but am extremely confident you'll pass next time. I'm also glad that you have such a positive outlook on things and know that this is merely a setback or hurdle which you will cross soon enough. You're right about each day being better than the last and you will survive. I will keep you in my prayers.

Hello Peaceful !

Just responded to your other thread, too. (fast official results)

Again, I'm pleased to see you're hanging in there, even feeling blessed. All things are relative.. and though this was a real kick in the gut for you, it did not knock you out. You're still on your feet and ready for the counter attack ! ;)

Know that we are pulling for you, and I will definately be keeping you in my prayers on the next go 'round !

Now go take some "special time" for yourself and your daughter.. enjoy each other and refresh your spirit ! :kiss

((((((Tonya)))))) I agree with jnette and the others. Especially take some downtime and spend with your daughter. She's gone through your four years of college with you and then some. You both deserve some mommy/daughter time right now. Relax and get back into the game of life! It aint over til it's over, so stay strong and keep on keeping on. You'll reach the goals you set for yourself. Failure is for those who quit trying to excel towards their goals, so do NOT call yourself a failure or look at yourself as one. :nono: We're all here for you dah-lin! :kiss

That a girl, Peaceful!!!!!!!!!
