Once your have been accepted by the program, you can put the acceptance on your resume. But until you get accpeted, you should leave it off the resume itself -- as it is possible that you won't be accepted. Until then, you could include it in your cover letter and/or put it in a statement of career objectives at the top of the resume.

Once you are accepted, you would list it under the education heading. As in:

ADN -- date, school, etc.

BSN -- Accepted by XYZ school. Expected to start classes on (date) and graduate (date).

I listed the BSN, even though I haven't been accepted and it helped me to finally get a job. I think most hospital systems have an automated system that picks up and throws out resumes according to key words. I know mine was getting kicked back because I only have an associates. Once I listed BSN, I got an interview and a job.

The way I listed mine was listed my Associate in bold, followed by the school. Then I listed Bachelors below (not in bold) but instead of listing the school name, I put January-Current. They didn't ask me in my interview if I was in the BSN program, but I told them I was taking classes towards the bachelors.

This is very true. Most employers have "key words". If your resume doesn't contain those key words, it won't even get through the filter.

Another tip is to look at the job description and tailor your resume to include as many of those words as possible. If you called it hard working and they called it productive, change it.

THanks so much everyone!

I would be very careful on putting it on your resume and not being accepted or in the program. If they called the staff at the school it could be seen as false information. I would not put it on until after you got accepted.
