I would really appreciate any/all input from nurses who have taken the Hesi exit exam and passed!

In Texas we cannot apply for state boards until we have passed this test..... and in dire straits..thanks MaresRN2B

Keegan, do you have any tips for V-4

Please help . I need some help with Version 5 for the Hesi RN EXIT!!!

THanks

I started the online Hurst Review before I graduated so that I am sure helped me do so well on my exit HESI.

I also got the HESI NCLEX-RN review book noted below but I didn't read the book I just used the CD for questions to prepare for the HESI.

Evolve Reach Testing and Remediation Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN® Examination (Evolve Reach Testing & Remediation Comprehensive Review) by Elizabeth A. Saccoman (Paperback - Dec. 6, 2007)

anybody have tips on v-3 or v- 4 exit hesi , i already failed this god forsaken test twiceeee :)))) , plese if somebody could help me i just want to graduate !

Our school had a 3 day review (8 hours ea day) taught by HESI folks. It helps on test taking strategies.

Honestly, besides this review, I didn't study. (I work FT and really was too exhausted.) I passed with an 888 first go round. :)

I just took my Hesi test 2 days ago. Version 1, passed with a 913! I was so stressed because I didn't know what to expect. It was used as our final exam. I studied the Hesi book the school book store carried. I will be pinned tomorrow night! So excited. Good luck to all the nursing students out there, and know that you can do it!

I was just wondering if those who took the HESI exams in nursing school felt that it helped prepare them for the NCLEX exam?

Anyone else notice that there are variances amongst schools and their requirements for the HESI? Each school has a different passing score, and some allow walking but no diploma, others disallow graduation, others require passage to move from level to level, some you may take up to 5 times, others only 3. This is my main objection to HESI and why I'm terrified of the HESI but only worried about the NCLEX. I find safety in an exam that is not dependent on Evolve/Elsevier salespeople and their products to determine a person's future and effect their finances.

NCLEX is standardized and has rigid cutoffs, allowing for licensure or non-licensure. That's it.

I had to take it twice it was super hard! They gave us a hesi book if you have the book study it cover to cover! It worked for me!

I think it helped a lot!!

What book is best to get ready for the Exit Hesi?

But schools also vary a lot in their grading scheme, what a minimum passing grade is, how many classes you can retake, etc. I think it's something to consider when choosing a program, certainly, and it is frustrating when the school puts so much weight in to something they don't actually prepare themselves, but the variation in how schools use it doesn't strike me as particularly concerning in and of itself.
