I loved my pinning! It was lovely, and something that I got to share with all my fellow nursing students. Very special indeed...
Same here! I went to both the pinning and the graduation.

I, as a male student, HATE our all white uniforms, and I dont feel as if the whole pinning ceremony is made to be fair to males. I realize we are the segregated population, and dont get me wrong, I love the caring aspect of nursing, but I don't feel obligated to wear white and do the whole nightingale thing. Just my two cents. I probably will go, but I will raise the point about just going in very nice clothes, and not all whites. This is 2007, afterall.

My school has dropped the ceremony:sniff:. Kinda disappointing after all our hard work.

Yeah, I did. Well, we all did since we were obliged to. And our school prepared us all for the ceremony to make it more solemn and memorable.:yelclap:
I hate my pictures! They were not shot well.

Our school said we didn't get a ceremony because we didn't graduate when everyone else did (graduated in July). None of the instructors would come to our party we had, so we made up a small ceremony of our own. It was pretty depressing. The school lost my alumni contributions, over that........

I went to my pinning ceremony and graduation. I waited 5 long years for it. Besides, it was mandatory barring you being dead. I know the class that graduated before us (july 06) wore their caps and gowns to their pinning since there is no summer graduation ceremony.

I graduate in May, and I will absolutely go to my pinning ceremony. I am very much looking forward to it. Nursing school has been a long, hard road, and this is our chance to celebrate and be recognized.

I truly can't remember my pinning ceremonies from either LPN (1992 in Las Vegas) or ADN (1994 in Indianapolis). Neither was memorable. Never went to graduation either.

Well we don't have pinning ceremonies here, but my class is having a seperate Nursing graduation party......apart from the big university graduation ceremony. I'm going to the University graduation (mostly because my parents want to see me there), but I've decided not to go to the nursing ceremony. I wasn't really a part of my nursing class. I wasn't really friends with any of the girls, we never really spent time together, and I refuse to spend my graduation night pretending we've all been great friends for four years struggling through this together. I think I'm the only one not going, but it doesn't really bother me at all. I think a nice dinner and night with my family will mean more to me than a night with a bunch of people whose company I've never really enjoyed.

I have worked hard for my pin and will attend the ceremony in May. Our school uses the lamps in the ceremony and I'm not sure that I like that very well being a guy but what the hey! I made it!

I will be attending the ceremony this May. I am not sure how other pinnings go, but I have been told our pinning is "unique" in that we pick who pins us. I will be having my boyfriend pin me, though he does not know this yet. We also get to have our family meet us on the stage. I get tears in my eyes just typing this. I have worked so hard. This will truely be a wonderful day for me. I cannot wait.
