I just paid to schedule my exam. This will be my first exam with Excelsior and I am super nervous! I plan on scheduling it the last weekend of this month. I have been reading forums about the exam but they are all old posts. Has anyone taken it recently?

I am needing helpful study tips. I purchased the practice exam from Excelsior. I also have the Study Guide 101. The Study Guide 101 just freaks me out looking at it because it is A LOT of material and it is not in order with the Content Sections.

Sounds like you are off to a good start! Follow the content guide since that is what you are expected to know. I had some SG101 materials and also used College Network materials I purchased cheap from Ebay. (DON'T sign a contract with them!!) Be sure you cover all the material on the content guide.

I thought Transitions was very boring, lots of material.... and I saved it for last! Definitely use the Practice tests to study for every exam. Very valuable!!

Thank you! I'm going to block out time for each day to study. I'm still waiting on my ATT so that I can schedule. I didn't even think about about college network. I'll look around and see what I can find!

I used sg101 to pass all my exams so far. I'm looking at my sg101 study guide for transition that I got back in December 2013 and the 2014 content guide from ec and the sg101 is EXACTLY in order of the content sections. It actually isn't that much material, you have to read the how to page because it explains how it is set up. The study guide is only 65 pages and the rest is practice questions (like 700 pages) and flashcards and charts, key terms, and it has the students bill of rights, the BON info for each state, how a bill becomes a law. All that stuff is extra if you need it. Better to have everything you might need than not enough. IMHO :specs:

You are on the right track! The first exam will always be the most difficult, because it's taking a big leap. Good luck!!

Yes. For $75 you actually get two exams, I think they still have 100 questions as they did back when I was a student. They also have rationales for answers that are helpful study tools.

I'm on LS3 right now. All I've used thus far are the practice exams and Sg101. The practice exams are completely worth it. I've gotten all As or Bs, more Bs than As and I generally score mid 60s on the practice exams, so you can use that as a reference point to know if you are ready for the exams.
