Just passed health and safety....only got a C but I thought I failed it!!! I will be taking transitions in a few weeks.
I just passed Health and Safety a few minutes ago with a B, not bad, not great, but good enough. The ONLY studying I did was last night about 10pm I took the ECE practice exam A and this morning I took the practice exam B and had no problems. Several of the questions on the practice exam were on the real exam.
I just registered for the Transition to RN test, after that I'll have to bite the bullet and actually enroll in the program and pay the fee.
I have a Question: It's my understanding that the Nursing Exams are only good at Excelsior and not good for transfer, but what about the other exams, Dev Psych, or Microbiology, etc. Can those transfer??
Thanks

It just depends on the school. When I was having my transcripts evaluated for RN-BSN programs, some schools accepted my EC sciences, but others didn't because they don't include labs. For the Dev Psych, I took a CLEP test instead -- Human Growth and Development. Much cheaper, and widely accepted because it's CLEP (and EC accepts it as well -- that'll save you a few pennies!).

Thanks for the reply, I signed up for that CLEP and will take it on Oct 7th at a local CC. What about a Nutrition exam? I didn't see any for Clep or Dsst, any suggestions where I can take an exam for that. I work full time in the ER at the VA and part-time Urgent Care at another facility. No time for classes.

Congrats !!!! I just passed this one Monday. This exam was a bit harder then I thought. Lots of critical thinking, and nursing safety. I used the content guide, Saunders NCLEX review and my favorite Studygroup 101. I love them!!
Thanks for the info - I've been lurking for awhile now and have to say that all the info everyone has posted has really helped with my decision to go through excelsior and my method of study and focus. I take my first 2 exams next week!
I have studygroup101 and purchased the practice exams and Saunders, but the Saunders hasn't arrived yet - hopefully before Tuesday so I can look it over before the tests!! I'm so excited to finally start!
Okay so Im about to sign up for the health and safety exam, and I keep seeing people on here talk about the recommended reading material and the practice exams. Can anyone tell me where to find these things???'Piggy
