Hi. I'm new to this site and new to Excelsior. I have chosen Mystudygrouo101 as core study material. I'm wondering what strategies work for others with this material. There is a lot of content and multiple practice exams. This... Read More

Did you only use studygroup 101 guides? For everything? And what timeline did you use to get everything knocked out ? I'm getting ready to start my pre reqs next month thru excelsior before I enroll into the nursing program
You work at your own pace. The timeline will be what you make it and strive for. Excelsior gives you 7 years to complete the program. Some of us did it in under a year; others took longer, depending on what was going on with work, family, etc. You set your goal, devise your plan to reach that goal, and get busy until your mission is accomplished. Good luck with your studies!

I've been using SG101 as well. For those who used it for Health Safety, when I downloaded it, it was 1k+ pages. Some appears to be original material, some graphs or charts and some textbook pages. Did you study all 1k pages to pass??

Yes I used study group 101 as my only source to prepare for my nursing exams. From beginning prereqs to becoming FCCA eligible took 5 months. Hope to be finished with the FCCA by the end of this coming week. Then it's on to conquer the CPNE. However, take everything at your own pace. Make this RN journey your own. Good luck!

Did you use the studygroup 101 for the pre reqs too...? Because I'm honestly about to just use my A&P book from my LPN program lol. (Don't judge me). And perhaps by the study guides for the pre reqs.

And I commend you on your focus. You are trully an inspiration. Lol I want to be an RN by the end of summer 2014. I guess with all the time I have I should be able to knock it out...no real distractions😁

I definitely used my LPN A&P book! Don't freak out too much about the Krebs cycle or anything too detailed. I used Lisa Arends CD, LPN A&P book and a book with a lot of detailed pictures (I like pictures! ;-)) and passed with a B.

Thanks! I'm gonna get started today!

I used TCN module and SG101 for H&S and I passed it. It has been the easiest so far!!! I am working on reproductive health now. Taking it in 2 weeks.

I am coming in a little late on this conversation, but I am in the same boat as ya'll. I just enrolled in the college and I am waiting on my Official Transcript. I know that I will need to retake A&P and Micro, so that is where I am going to start. @CLUVLPN if you don't mind me asking, how many pre-req did you have? I have a feeling I will have a majority of the ones required to do. I know my English is good and I am praying the humanities I have is good...I also have a few electives that hopefully will transfer. Has anyone taken their first test yet? How did it go? Good luck everyone!!!
