So, the last few weeks I've interviewed, done the HR tango and now I'm waiting to be placed on the schedule!!!!! I'm in the ER baby!!!
I interviewed on a Friday, was told to "expect a call in the next day or so"...so I waited, no call that afternoon. Saturday came and went, as did Sunday and Monday (was a holiday)...Tuesday I dressed up, went and bought a nice thank you card and tried to drop it off...no one that interviewed me was there! The receptionist told me to take it back to the nurses station and ask one of the nurses to place it in their box :/. Well, I did it. LOL. I was looked at like a FREAK!!!!
That evening my husband had to take someone to that ER, so I asked him to see if one of my interviewers was there and make sure they got my card (two other interviewees were from my alma mater and I KNEW they would be bringing cards too!). When he asked one of the manager he said "shoot! I was supposed to call her!" So my husband was there when I got the call offering me the job!
Fast forward three weeks- I've done the HR tango, submitted my two weeks notice at my current job....and now I'm waiting to be placed on the schedule! My ENPC and TNCC books are my best friends at the moment!
I am so excited and can't WAIT to get the call. I am half expecting it to come while I'm at work this evening (I've always been called at night) LMAO!!!!!
Wooooooooo!!!!!! ER here I come!!!!!!
Posting from my phone, ease forgive my fat thumbs! :)

Yahoo!! I absolutely feel your excitement! I'm currently doing the HR tango at the moment and I absolutely HATE this waiting game!!
So thrilling! I bet you can't wait to get on the floor!
What made you want to transition into the ED?
I did my 240 hour senior practicum in a Military ED and LOVED it so much!
Congratulations!

I did my preceptorship in a busy level 2 ER, and fell in love- plus my personality just fits with the ER...I took L&D because it was a job and I had to pay the bills, and I hoped it would fill my need for chaos, but alas, it did not. So I moved on! Woooooooo

That is great, congratulations!!!
I love learning and most of all doing things. I have been in the ICU and I want to see what ED is all about.
I have a lot of respect for ED. I want to give a try. I am so excited I can't wait.

Congratulations! Not gonna lie, I'm super jealous over here! ER is my dream job and need that experience to get into flight nursing. Good luck, I'd be just as psyched!

Welcome to the ER. Best freaking floor in the hospital. Where you deal with everything anything at anytime all hours of the day. Best job in the world.
Thanks guys!!! I can't wait to get in there!
