Specializes in Staff nurse.

Great!! So, what kind of job do you anticipate? What kind of floor, or LTC? Let us know how you're doing.

well i am kinda torn right now. i have a great job here in ca. right now, i am a receptionist for a huge ranching operation in ca and my boss is great, very flexible with my school schedule and i get benefits.

so i am still trying to figure out what to do. i basically took this cna class because i am not good at science. so i wanted to see if i could find out if nursing was even for me because i wasn't sure after not being able to understand the science part of things.

i had been enrolled in anatomy and physio (separate semesters) and both classes i dropped mid semester. i was not studying like i should have been, but science and math are also not my "cup of tea". i am enrolled to retake anatomy in the fall.

i guess now the question is is do i leave my comfort zone of my wonderful job, which at most times is very boring? or do i take a pay cut to be busy and help people when they need me? i seriosuly have been wondering about what to do. my ultimate goal is being an rn.

i will get there sooner or later (hopefully sooner) and i am young, married and we have no kids. i really want to get my rn before having kids because so many times i hear the same story over and over again...these women have kids and don't go back to finish nursing school! i want my life long career set up so my husband and i will be really financially ready.

i am so torn as i said on what to pursue next, so any advice on this would be great!

hey thanks you guys!!!!

i passed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am sooo excited!:lol2:

congratulations! so...what was it like?

Take anatomy in the fall and study. You won't know if you don't like something unless you try. And nursing is never boring. Good luck!

bethin~ i will study, i promise! :studyowl:

the written part of the exam was pretty easy! our tests in class were the same type of questions (same wording and multiple choice) as the ones on the exam. the only hard part was the skills. i was nervous, as was everyone else who was taking it.

just remeber that they do take that into consideration. the skills i had to do for the proctor were: hand washing, cleaning/storing dentures, taking the pt's. temp with a non mercury glass thermometer, rom on one ankle and knee, and lastly foot care on one foot.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

Congrats on passing!!!:balloons:
