HFCC financial aid
I check the site about 4 times a day and it says there is no report for 2009 yet. I even called FASFA today to make sure there was no problem on their end and they said everything is in order that I just have to wait for the school

HFCC financial aid
Anyone else having issues getting their award letter from HFCC? I have been sending emails for a month, financial aid mailbox is full and I finally found someones who wasn't but still no word. I went in on my lunch hour to find about 100 people in line, no clue whats going on. I filled out my FASFA in March and got an email from them days later saying it was complete and sent to the school. I'm super stressed . Guess I have to take a day off of work ugh!

Question about HFCC Financial Aid
thanks so much for the reply! I do have 6 credit hours picked out. I just couldn't find classes so late in the summer that fit my schedule with work and still allowed me to spend some time with my 4 year old.

Need advice
I need some guidence here...I am in a patient care tech program and have for the last three months. I was originally told it was a 12 month program but found out a couple weeks ago it is really 16 months. So far all I have taken was business communications, interpersonal skills and keyboarding...all stuff I have already taken before. Well I found this other school that I could be done with in like 7 months. This other patient care tech programs includes CNA classes and certification also getting certified in EKG and Phlebotomy and of course the patient care tech. PLUS it's only about nine thousand dollars CHEAPER! i work full time and am a single mom to a 4 year old so time is important so the shorter classes would be ideal. I would go 4 nights a week for 4 hours a day. My current program I go three nights a week 5 hours a day but it goes from 6p-11p and I don't get home until 11:30p and up at 4:30a so it's ROUGH!! My problem is I found out this new school is not accredited. Once I am certified will it matter? Thanks in advance!!

What should I do??
I am currently going to school for patient care tech with goals of becoming an RN in the future. I recently found out that the school had lied to me among entering the program. I was told the program 12 month and now found out it is 16. We wont even have our actual graduation until 4 months after that (they do it twice a year). So here I am counting down and found out I had to add on several months. Kind of a shock to the system. Also I was worried about the externship as it is during the day and I am a single mom with a full time job, they told me they were in the works for an evening externship because they just started the evening classes recently and that by the time I have to do my externship it will be set up. Also found that is a lie. I feel like they were doing anything to get me in. I have found the same course that is only 6 weeks and am thinking of talking to the school. This would mean a hellish 6 weeks of school/work but I would be done soon and could go on with my goals or should just suck it up and deal with it. I wont be done with my current program until Nov. 7th. I go to school from 6-11p and have to get up at 4:30a for work and it's really taking a toll. I would still be working long days (school from 8-4 and then work) but it would be over soon. Advice would be welcomed!!

Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT
Do you happen to know the hours of classes? Is it strictly daytime? Also do you have a direct link? I'm having trouble looking up the program. thanks :)

Is A PCT looked at different?
I too am going for my PCT. I am not sure how your program is but my class is 15 months long...mostly hands on then we do an externship for the class term so there is a lot more experience. If yours is anything like mine I would think it would make you more marketable having the additional training in other areas, working in an actual setting and all the hands on.

What's the difference?
I too am going to school for a PCT (starts monday). Right now I work in an office job but plan on going back to school for nursing and when I am in nursing school I wont be able to work my 9-5 and most schools around me have classes during the day. I need to be able to make more than min wage as I am a single mother so by the time I am in nursing school I will have some experience and be making enough to cover my bills hopefully. What state do you live in Amanda? I have been tossed between just getting my CNA or spending the next year in this program. They do teach us a lot so I feel it is good foundation. How do you like the class so far?

Tomorrow is the big day

Difference between CNA and Nurse tech?
Thanks everyone for all your replies!! Well now that we got that answered, how about a patient care tech, is there a difference from a CNA (sorry, I'm new at this and trying to learn the different jobs so I can figure out what I want to do).

Difference between CNA and Nurse tech?
This may be a dumb question but what is the difference between a CNA and Nurse tech? I am trying to decide between the two. Is there a pay difference as well?
