Is A PCT looked at different?
:uhoh3:Hello everyone!!! I got my CNA license in Feb and have tried since then to get a job at one of the three hospitals(Brevard,fl.).They all tell me I need more experience(I have none).I start back to school Aug 6th to finish the last three class I need to get my license as a PCT.My question is when I get my license for a PCT would I be looked at differently? As a PCT I would have phlebotomy,EKG,HHA,CPR and first aid all behind me.Or am I wasting my time doing the extra classes and just need to look else were for a job?

what to say at interview?
hello everyone... I am a CNA with my HHA,CPR and First Aid behind me also.Right now I work for a HHA company(only for a month) and I applied for a job at a hospital. The title is clinical svcs tech II but the definition for that says CNA. Well when I saw it was for a CNA I check the box for the job and I got a call back in a couple hrs. Now I have an interview tomorrow and I have no clue really what the details of the job is (other than CNA) and I don't know what to say or do at the interview? I have never heard of a clinical svcs tech(let alone a tech II)and I'm not sure what I have got my self into.I did send my resume(very small cause I have really no experience)..........Does anyone have any idea what a clinical service tech does???? An maybe what should I say at the interview??????

Home Health,TLC,or Hospital?
Hello everyone, I have 2 questions 1)Is working in Home Health any different than TLC or a Hospital? 2)Would a Hospital hire you if you worked in Home Health and not in TLC? I am a CNA and I start working for a Home Health agency June 4th. After i got some experience I was wanting to work in a Hospital but wasn't sure if they would hire me with only working Home Health?Should I not even work Home Health If I'm wanting to work in a Hospital? Please Help!!

difference between LTC & assistant living?
Hello everyone!!!! I work in a nursing home and I have to say it is the worst experience I have ever had.. The first 3 days I was told to work with someone(but really never got to do or showed anything). The person I was to work with always did everything because she didn't want to get behind from me slowing her down.I wasn't taught how to do much because she said you will never do everything by the book(so she cut corners as she called it)or you'll never get done.So after my 3 wonderful days of working with her.I got put out on my own and OMG!!!!I didn't know how to do things.I got sooooo far behind and every time I asked someone for help they would just help set me up than leave.Anyway what I was wondering was if assistant living was less hectic and more for the patient?I really didn't mind doing the things and helping the people. It was the not knowing who, were, how and when everyone went?Sorry for the long talk but I'm just sooo frustrated and needed to vent..:uhoh21:

How long do you wait?
Hello everyone!!!! I have put out applications for jobs and have been waiting to hear something(anything). My question is just that"How long do you wait"?Is 1 week or 2 weeks to long to think they still might want me?Or should I go back and fill another one out?I filled some out on the computer. Also went down in person to turn some in.I even filled out one for a place that wanted 1yrs experience(that I don't have)....How long did it take for any of you to get a call back for a job interview? Or should I call them too? Any ideas????????

No stethoscope required?!?!?!?!?!
I don't think I have ever heard that one before.when I started my CNA classes one of the things I had to buy was a stethoscope. Maybe were your going to do your clinicals they provide one for you?I go in 2 days to take my states test and they said you could be tested on it but they will provide a two way one for you(and the judge)to use.Did you use one at all for the class?Maybe you should call the place were your going to do the clinicals and ask if they will have one for you to use?
