Teacher Trouble

I just started a cna program, in the Bronx this monday, the program is monday through wed for three hours each day. So far each day this week she has been between 10 to 20 minutes late and then she let us leave 10 minutes early monday and 15 minutes early today, should I complain to someone at the school about this or wait and see if she gets it together next week? Could this be doing our class alot of damage in terms of preparing us properly for the exam.

Well that's not very good now is it! I took a tour of my CNA school yesterday and they are pretty stict about being to class late and actually suggested that people arrive 10 - 15 minutes early for the class. I would maybe see if this happens next week and then definitely report it. If you do not get the time, and training you need, then you are the one that is going to fail not your teacher ..... I hope it gets better. Good Luck!

I found the exam to be fairly easy so I don't know if the reduced time will inhibit you that way. That said NE requires a certain number of hours for a program to be accepted by the state, and I would be worried about not meeting that threshold.

I had the same situation happen to me in my $1,500.00 CNA class from HELL. The teacher was the devil, seriously. I didn't learn much in class. Three weeks ago I past the state exam. Just read the book and it's so sad we have to waste time in money with this people.

Do not feel bad, my old CNA teacher was full of venom as well.

I think alot of these nursing teachers teach because they dislike people too much to do actual nursing. But,

that is another tale. I shall duck before flames from RN/LPN instructors come in.

Something that could be an option:

If the place teaches the same course at another time, you could try to ask the administrator to put you in that one. I wouldn't say anything about the teacher if you did. Just fib a bit and tell them you that your job/ spouse's schedule/ insert-legit-story-here would make it easier for you to switch classes. If not, just grin and bear it. CNA coursework is not really that hard. It is short, too.

Well this instructor is not a very time managable person, but it really shouldn't mess up your CNA class or exam most of the class and the test is just basic common sense..trust me u will be alright and do just fine..I hope everything works out for you and you get through your class. Good Luck!

I don't think it's doing your class any damage to be missing time, but it's definitely unprofessional.

As a CNA you'll work with people like that anyway. Lazy people who show up at the last minute, do minimal work, take extra long breaks, etc.
