I have always paid off loans by paying nothing but the interest off first so it don't build and cost me twice as much as it would've.

Student deferred loans are the best way I think if u can't get grants or financial help. Why can't I get financial assistance? You could probably get a low interest rate and you don't have to start paying it off until 6 months after you graduate. Working as a nurse you could pay it off pretty fast especially if you find a place that u sign a contract you can get reimbursement

I don't think They can discriminate u for a disability but they don't have to hire you. As in if u get hired they legally can't fire you for the disability. Find out all information you can. Good luck!

It seems so wishy washy like statements about no and yes on applications for expunged records. I was thinking if its expunged then its sealed somehow but some posts don't concur. What's expunges for then? I think Its a bunch of BS to get more money to the government, seriously government I have my own debt you take care of yours and let me get a job to pay mine off.

Wow! I just ran upon this here funny little post. I believe you shouldn't have to fight for "dream," and life should and is suppose to be easy and fruitful! BIG BUT HERE; although I also believe if its your true dream and you have to fight for it then you will. No matter what I believe if you did the crime you should understand there will be some "fighting" involved, but instead of thinking of It as fighting for your dreams use the word "Conquering," its a stronger word And it makes u feel great to even say it! I believe you can get through school and CONQUER YOU GOALS!!

I'm talking about someone who went through rehab and is functional and healthy. What does diverting meds has to do w it. I was completely confused by your post. If someone does something in the line of work, yes that's a No no. If it was in their past give them a chance. No human is perfect I guess.

it means what it says! if a person not matter nurse or not has had an addiction problem which i know of one who was addicted to pain killers after back surgery, she got addicted and she got help..she is a great nurse so why can't she be one...humans make mistakes. if you are purposely causing harm to another person then they shouldn't be in healthcare. what i am saying is getting help through rehabilitation, constant drug screens, and positive reinforcement.

I want to here what was going against you(crime wise)? How did you get through it, and graduated? We need to help people realize that mistakes are made because we are human we NEED to encourage everyone to go for their dreams. I've been hearing a lot of, "oh I wouldn't spend the money." What state do u reside in? If you have had a personal experience with not being able to get a job because of a record then you have a firsthand experience, or if you are mayor/governor you personally know all the people in your town and have extensive knowledge of their criminal background history?!? There could be hundreds of people in your town you don't know that have a criminal history and are working.
