I am a new CNA started working April 2nd and my feet hurt so bad I wear nurse mate doves and they are not good shoes any suggestions on good work shoes for CNA work?

Really, there is no magical shoe. But I promise you it gets better :) Your feet have to get used to being on them for so long. Give it a good 3 weeks :) Good luck and enjoy your new job.

I always wore good running shoes or cross trainers for CNA work. By "good", I mean ones I can actually power walk or run on for 45 mins to an hour.

I wear danskos now for 8 hr per day nursing school clinicals and work.

Thank you ladies. :)

First congrats on becoming a CNA. I personally love sketchers. I have never had any problem with them and they are comfortable to me. There might be a better "nurses" shoe out there but these have been my choice of shoe for many years

I've been through a pair of Acsics and Pumas. The Pumas were like walking on memory foam and very comfortable even after 10 hours. Now I wear Crocs all the time because I work as a shower aide.

Try plunging your feet into ice water when you get home from work. No more than 10 minutes (if you make it that long). Do this until your feet become more used to the work. (It won't be forever, I promise!)

Wear good support stockings...Life Uniform sells some that are good. I've recently started wearing Futuro socks that are better so far than the Life socks...but I am curious to see if this will last past several washes.

I wear Dansko clogs, this has helped (I work in ICU where there's lots of standing during bed baths, assisting with dressing changes.). When I worked LTC, I wore North Face tennies.
