CNA appreciation (from a new grad RN)

I never worked as a CNA before becoming an RN, and I would just like to shout out to you guys in the profession, and thank the wonderful techs and CNAs at my hospital. I have learned so much from you and promise to never be the nurse that won't empty out a bsc or urinal.

Yesterday, all by myself, I turned an obese patient, got the diaper on and changed the bed and got it all right ON THE FIRST TRY!!! I have been in absolute awe of the ease and efficiency that our CNAs execute this skill with on a regular basis.

I have six months of RN experience under my belt... just wanted to let you guys know how much this new grad appreciates your experience, skill, and support.

Oh my god. Did you just acknowledge a little appreciation for us CNA's ??? I may faint.

I thank you so much. We're supposed to be your assistants.....hence the name, y'know? It's people like you who make up for the ones who discourage and disrespect us from time to time. I wish I worked with you.

I'd have to agree with the original poster. I was never a CNA before I became an RN and I love my regular CNA's that I work with. A lot of times I will help them with changing a patient or getting them something they want, taking them to the bathroom, changing their lienens or emptying a foley. Ya'll do some great work, and it's horrible that some nurses feel as thought they aren't going to lift a finger to help. Nursing is all about team work and what is best for the patient. I wouldn't have any structure to my day without my CNA's. I tell them I appreciate them all the time for their hard work and dedication. It's not easy and can become extremely hard when the case load is extensive d/t a call out or high patient count. KUDOS to ya'll.

Coming from an LPN formal CNA licensed but never work with it;i appreciate you guys alot because someone of you are extremely helpful and God send.I will NEVER in my life look down on you guys as we are and still a TEAM.God bless.

Thank you :) .. I am just starting my first nurs160 course tonight :D..I work as a CNA on the weekends. However it really puts a strain on me, when I come home the last thing I want to do is study. So I am thinking about giving it up and just study study study.. I am taking a nurse course with micro biology.. This is going to be a challlege :D.. any suggestions? I read the nursing chpts already and yet I don't know what to really focus on, because everything seems very important
