On average, how many hours a week do you all work? If you wanted to work more hours are they available? Or do you hold down multiple jobs to make ends meet? :icon_roll

Its a good thing I'm not hearing people say they only get 12Hrs a week. LOL That's one of the reasons I got out of RETAIL, the Hrs SUCKED! If I could work weekends only that would be great! I'm almost done with my CNA program, should I start looking for jobs now, or wait until I graduate?

A few girls in my class started looking for jobs before graduation, but the only ones who found anything were the ones that applied at our clinical site. After grad., when I started looking, I had a few people tell me they couldn't hire me until after I took the state exam, which I'm supposing is there policy because I know by state law it's 90 days leeway. One lady was ready to hire me on the spot till she saw that I hadn't tested. I found something really quickly, though. I think it's good that you like weekends, because a couple places I applied at were hiring, but ONLY for weekends at that time.

I work 40 hours per week, and there is plenty of opportunity to work overtime, as there are always call-outs.

I work at least 36 hours a week and anytime I want over time I can call in for a shift and ask if they've got space. Usually every month there are tons of extra shifts open.

I just started my job.. but I work full time with 40 hours per week.

My boss told me that if I wanted overtime, I could if I wanted to... but just had to ask her first.

Hours for me have never been a problem, short of working for an agency that was not agressive at finding work (slow periods) or hospitals that send CNAs

home during low census. (LTC does not cancel folks... those patients are not

going anywhere)

As far as CNA making up to $15, I do know of some mental health techs for private facilities and HHAs making that. However, most start in NH making

7-9 per hour. Hospital pays 9-11. Some LTACs use PCTs at 13-14.

But, I am in the deep south, and that is a totally different thread. But,

15 is possible with the right connections and experience. There is low turnover

on those jobs, though.

You should have no problem with a CNA certificate getting hours if

you market yourself and have a good work ethic.

I am in school full-time, so I only work part-time- I usually work 16 hours a week. I work every other weekend 7-3, and every wednesday 3-11. It's great because it's really flexible around my school schedule. When I wasn't in school, I worked 32-40 hours a week on days. It's really easy to pick up extra shifts at my facility if you need extra hours.

I work 40 hours a week. Luckily for me i work in a small family owned facility. It doesn't pay as much as the bigger one. But compared to what i don't have to do it is well worth it.
