I applied back in july 2012 and was accepted to start on october 29th. I did most of my prereqs courses at MDC and transferred to Chamberlain with 53 credits, only missing logic and cultural diversity which I couldnt find at MDC, I guess they dont open many classes for those two courses. Regarding the Hesi exam, I found it pretty easy, I used the study guide they sell for it and I think it was of great help. I cant wait for october 29th to start classes!! Best of luck to all!!
Congrats!! Hopefully I see u in January . I had 50 credits that's transferred over as well. I could start in October but I needed more time to get ready. Because I wouldn't be able to work!!! Congrats and thanks for the tips!!!

    Hello,
I am considering applying to Chamberlain BSN program and I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight on how they're paying for classes. I know it is a very expensive school and I am not sure that financial aid and student loans will cover the cost. I have my AA and I know must of the credits required for the program will be transfered. Unfortunately, financial aid wont give me any information unless I first apply and pass the HESI. If anyone can share any information, I will really really appreciate it. Thank you.

To Juliansmom2011: This school is expensive but since I did all the general courses at a community college and I'm transferring to Chamberlain with 53 credits it's going to be around two years. I'm going to end up paying around 60K I think. I'm receiving both financial aid and loans and they let you make monthly payments for what loans or financial aid don't cover. Keep in mind this school requires health insurance and if you dont have one you need to pay 800 bucks/year to the school for you health insurance.

To Juliansmom2011: I cant send emails through here so I just reply to ur post. The 60K is everything including what financial aid, loans, (and scolarships if I get any), and what I will have to pay out pocket cause loans or fin aid wont cover, so the 60K is the total cost for the 2 years and 3 months. I also applied to Nova but they didnt accept me because I had a withdrawal from a math class, and my GPA is 3.2 and they ask for more. Regarding the HESI exam, I found it pretty easy, you need to study english including grammar, vocabulary, reding comprehension, A&P, chemistry, math, and I think that's it. I got like an 85, I used the study guide for the HESI and I think it was of great help, the guide is very similar to the questions on the exam, so I do recommend it. I havent started the program yet, will do by the end of the month, but I have heard great things about it, I know I have to study a lot; all nursing classes passing score is a 76 minimum.

    Hello all,

Im happy I found this forum. I actually attended the open house for Chamberlain (miramar) today. I loved the simulation lab and the staff members I met and was drawn to the school but I still had my concerns esp about the price and the program being 2yrs & 3mons. I was thinking about attending Kiser because its only 4semesters and about 15000-20000 cheaper however it is just an associate program. After speaking to Ada, one of the admissions counselor I learned that I can start on Oct 29th! I would do NR 101 from oct 29-dec., then NR 222 jan-march. After that I would start the on campus nursing class in march. Im still a little hesitant but I think its worth a shot because I wanted to start nursing no later than jan 2013.

For those who are starting this month (oct 29), are you also doing the NR 101 then NR 222 in jan and then the on campus nursing classes in march? Or are you starting the actual on campus nursing classes on oct 29th?

    Hello,

I am applying to the school to be accepted for the January 7th class. I am sending in all my official transcripts. As soon as they receive all the transcripts I can take the HESI A2 exam. How is the exam? From my understanding they only weigh the math, reading and English? Also what study guide did you use?

Hello every one, I was home schooled and I have a high school equivalency diploma...its not a high school diploma but it is from a regionally accredited high school since i received after 18 years of age. I have my transcripts for it and it is registered with the department state of education. I know it is accepted at all community colleges...do you think chamberlain would have a problem with this type of diploma? "adult high school equivalency certificate" It is the same as the GED except higher scores are needed to pass.
