  1. Hey! I also graduated from MDC with an AA, I was accepted into Chamberlain to start october 29th. I was also very skeptical about these schools and their accreditation, I applied to Nova but they did not accept me. I have heard great things about Chamberlain, and they are accredited. The only thing I dont like is the price though. So are starting oct 29th at Chamberlain or were you accepted to Nova?
  2. To Juliansmom2011: I cant send emails through here so I just reply to ur post. The 60K is everything including what financial aid, loans, (and scolarships if I get any), and what I will have to pay out pocket cause loans or fin aid wont cover, so the 60K is the total cost for the 2 years and 3 months. I also applied to Nova but they didnt accept me because I had a withdrawal from a math class, and my GPA is 3.2 and they ask for more. Regarding the HESI exam, I found it pretty easy, you need to study english including grammar, vocabulary, reding comprehension, A&P, chemistry, math, and I think that's it. I got like an 85, I used the study guide for the HESI and I think it was of great help, the guide is very similar to the questions on the exam, so I do recommend it. I havent started the program yet, will do by the end of the month, but I have heard great things about it, I know I have to study a lot; all nursing classes passing score is a 76 minimum.
  3. To Juliansmom2011: This school is expensive but since I did all the general courses at a community college and I'm transferring to Chamberlain with 53 credits it's going to be around two years. I'm going to end up paying around 60K I think. I'm receiving both financial aid and loans and they let you make monthly payments for what loans or financial aid don't cover. Keep in mind this school requires health insurance and if you dont have one you need to pay 800 bucks/year to the school for you health insurance.
  4. Congratss!! I'm starting october 29th on the miramar campus as well and can't wait. I transferred with 53 credits from MDC since I allready have an AA. Im starting with pathophysiology and transitions in nursing as my first two classes. Regarding the schedule you can make it work for you, each class lasts an hour and a half, you can take the classes in the morning or in the afternoon. For example patho is twice a week and transitions in nursing is only once a week, so I will have classes three times a week from let's say 9 to ten thirty since I havent taken the classes yet and dont know the schedule. What classes are you taking for ur first semester? Maybe we meet sometime in a class, who knows...
  5. I applied back in july 2012 and was accepted to start on october 29th. I did most of my prereqs courses at MDC and transferred to Chamberlain with 53 credits, only missing logic and cultural diversity which I couldnt find at MDC, I guess they dont open many classes for those two courses. Regarding the Hesi exam, I found it pretty easy, I used the study guide they sell for it and I think it was of great help. I cant wait for october 29th to start classes!! Best of luck to all!!
  6. Jpaul, would you mind sharing your GPA? and also how do you like the program....is it hard? This month of april seems to be the longest month of my life...lol
  7. Hello, I am taking the TEAS V at FNC next monday to apply for the nursing program to start in august. I had allready passed the TEAS V exam in MDC when I took it in december but FNC does not accept scores from any other school so I will retake it with them. I found the science part the hardest but still passed the four parts. I found the review from ATI very helpful and recommend it to anyone, also you can buy timed test practices like the teas on their website, I bought both the review and the timed tests practices and were very helpful to me. Hope this helps and if I can help you with anything just ask!! With you the best of lucks:-)
  8. Hello succes876!! I also applied for the fall semester for the nursing program at Nova. They told me that by the first week of may they will let me know whether I was accepted or not. I did all my pre-reqs at Miami Dade College and my GPA is 3.21, if you mind me asking, whats yours? Hopefully we will get accepted, and will meet at Nova. With you the best of luck!!
