Chamberlain College Of Nursing Spring 2015 Jacksonville FL

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Hello future CCU nursing students. I've been looking on website to find information about the pre-licensure BSN program at CCU here in Jacksonville Fl and I haven't had much luck so I decided to start this thread. I think it could be a great way for future spring 2015 BSN students to connect, ask questions and find out information . Its a great way to talk about our experiences current and in the future and possible be able to form study groups and relationships with people who will be facing the same challenges you will be facing. On that note, I applied and have been academically accepted to CCU Jacksonville Fl campus for spring 2015. I am still in the process of getting everything finalized such as financial aid, drug test and getting a confirmation on how many of my credits they transferred in. Is there anyone else starting CCU Jacksonville fl campus this spring? Information from current students are welcome and appreciated as well.

Yes I am. I know I still have to do drug and background, do the financial part, and register for classes now that it's December first I'm getting antsy about it all getting done I spoke to the advisor last Tuesday he said I was accepted but he'll have my final decision by the end of that day, and that he would give me a call about it at 5. I didn't hear anything so today I'm hoping to get in touch with him. Are you going to be into your actual nursing classes in January or do you still have prerequisites?

i have 2 prerequisites that I have still have to take so for the first session Im taking 2 nursing courses and 1 elective. I was trying to get in contact with him as we'll and I found out that he was out from being ill for a few days. Things will move along. I think as long as you passed the hesi and if you have transfer credits and won't have an issue getting transcripts you should be fine getting fully accepted. They are still waiting on one my micro grade. So it may seem like things are going slow, but you should be good before the term starts.

Here is an update. So I have been fully accepted. Chamberlain is still waiting on my Microbiology grade so I need to request an official transcript at the end of the term. I also registered for my January classes. Transition into nursing, pathophysiology I, and Information Systems in Healthcare. Patho and info systems I am doing online and I wondering how the workload for these courses are. I've taken online classes before but I would like other people's insight just to see what these courses are like; so if any current students can talk about their experience as well as in the program overall that would be awesome.

No since everything is pretty much complete I am waiting to attend orientation in a few weeks and for class to start Jan 5th. I am excited, anxious and a little scared all in one. Not sure why I have all these mixed emotions, maybe it's because I am finally able to do what I wanted to do as a career for a long time and I am one step closer. I can't wait to see what this journey has in store. Really looking forward to it. :-)

Hello future CCN students. Jan 5th is so close and it's on! Lol Who all went to the orientation already and what classes are you taking? I'm taking NR101 Tues 6-7:50, path and NR360 online. I'm trying to network with other students. I'm positive that this will benefit us all especially when studying for these classes. As always current nursing students feedback and comments are appreciated. Have a blessed Holiday

I am currently a student at CCN, the work is hard but all nursing sch will be the same.. I as well as many other students in my cohort would tell you that you would be better going somewhere else at a lower cost! chamberlain is very exspensive and u are charged double fir books, which r ebooks..if u want a paper copy u must pay out of pocket! Fees for kits, registering clinicals, fingerprinting, all kind of little stuff that pops up every other week! It's crazy when u pay out so much for tuition already! They say it's accelerated bc the terms r every 8 weeks..which is another lie.. They tk a normal 16week class (example =pharmacology) split it in 2 session (example =pharm 1/pharm2)and charge twice for it & for the book as well.. You get in immediately but it's a high cost for it. Please forget about trying to reach an advisor via phone! U should just go up there. No matter what they tell u, its impossible to work while in program. They DO NOT cater to those who need night classes/ a weekend type program. I have lost many of classmates bc of the reasons I've listed.. I'm on the fence of trying to transfer somewhere else.. The cost is ridiculous!

Thank you for your input...i wish i knew all of this before i started lol you are right about the books. i think thats stupid that you pay for ebooks and then if you need a printed copy you have to pay for that. not to mention the fact that you are charged 2 times in one semester. What other schools were you planning on applying to? Do you know of any other nursing schools that are flexible for apple who work.

Hello! I haven't found many recent threads for the Chamberlain Jacksonville campus so I figured I would drop a note in here :) I am currently hoping to be a Chamberlain student in the Fall 2015 semester. I am an active duty member in the medical field, and have been wanting to be a nurse for a very long time. I took the HESI and got an 86%, but my gpa is slightly lower than the required gpa. My advisor seems vert upbeat and positive, but I am very worried after reading other threads! Would you say having a part time job wouldn't be advisable, or is that doable?

Elenamarie83,

Any good news on acceptance?

Yes, I was accepted for Fall 2015!! I did my drug test and background check and have orientation on August 20th í ½í¸Š

Congrats. I held off until fall because of my gpa I go for my background and drug test on Wednesday. I'm excited. What pre reqs do you have left?

I have been accepted to the Jacksonville location and will start January 2016 after completing all my transfer courses. Im taking 17 credit hours each semester but will only be able to take 13 this fall because there are a few courses that Chamberlain wont accept due to differing credit hours. Is there another school I may be able to get those credits online. I could do one more course in the fall.

They took a lot of my transfer credits so I don't have to take any of the A&P, English or Psycology. I am taking math, Transitions in Nursing and Culture & Society in the fall semester í ½í¸Š. I have orientation on August 20th!!

Congrats to everyone, how long did it take for you all to hear something after the background and drug test
