Hello future CCU nursing students. I've been looking on website to find information about the pre-licensure BSN program at CCU here in Jacksonville Fl and I haven't had much luck so I decided to start this thread. I think it could be a great way for future spring 2015 BSN students to connect, ask questions and find out information . Its a great way to talk about our experiences current and in the future and possible be able to form study groups and relationships with people who will be facing the same challenges you will be facing. On that note, I applied and have been academically accepted to CCU Jacksonville Fl campus for spring 2015. I am still in the process of getting everything finalized such as financial aid, drug test and getting a confirmation on how many of my credits they transferred in. Is there anyone else starting CCU Jacksonville fl campus this spring? Information from current students are welcome and appreciated as well.
My progress so far. I took the HESI yesterday and scored overall a 86.7%. Not too bad for someone who did the sciences a long time ago. Right now I'm waiting on the school to reevaluate my transcripts because they weren't giving me credit for some courses like AnP I which I found to be weird. How can you accept AnP II and not AnP I and they both are from the same school n u need AnP I before II. Anyways apart from that still waiting to do background check and finalize everything with the enrollment process. Things are not going as smooth and quickly as I would hope especially with my transfer credits but I'll give it some time since I'm still taking my last science. That's all for now.

Good morning, in your opinion is the staff helpful? They seem great at first, but I'm relocating there so I wouldn't need any trouble getting in touch with advisors since I can't just pop up to the school since I won't make my move until the end of December. Have they gone over the financial part yet?
I feel the same way too but whenever I try to get in contact with my advisor, I receive an email or phone back. May not be as quick as I would like but none the less I always get a response. And it's understandable because I know they maybe busy at times. Yes I have gone over financial aid. How far along are you in the admission process???
I finally decided I'm going to apply next week. I've been very hesitant because of the price tag that comes with the school, even though I have classes to transfer in to lower the cost I'm still struggling to accept the cost of the school so I've been procrastinating . Was your tuition really that bad once you went through with financial aid?
To me is still high but I remind myself that this is a private school which will be way higher that public schools that get aid from the government. Also, the fact that those schools are even way harder to get into and competitive due to the amount of people that apply. In my opinion its worth it because I can't put a price tag on my education and going to a school to do what I want to do at at a faster pace.
Hi, how's your process going? I finally went ahead and applied. I'm just hoping go get things rolling now.
Everything is going good with the process. I completed my drug and background check and now I'm fully accepted. They are waiting on my microbiology grade which currently taking.after that then I'm OK to register for classes.
Well I'm glad your experience is going well. I went last Tuesday and took the hesi I made an overall grade of 84. My file went to the board that day my advisor told me I would hear from him late Tuesday or Friday if they didn't get to my file Tuesday. Well I never heard anything. Because everything happened so fast I have no idea what my GPA with them is, I've tried to call him a few times got no call back I'm not rushing them I just really wanted to know my GPA so that I can know if I stand a chance of getting in or not. It's so frustrating not knowing your GPA. They also sent me a email saying it's been seven days since I had progress but everything says pending. So what are you looking to pull in micro? I struggled in micro barely made it out.

I seen where you have USN as your occupation. Are you active duty? I was in years ago and I am planning on going to Chamberlain for a BSN then take a commission in the USN.
As of right now I have an A in the class. Depending on how my final goes I'll come out with an A or B+. I know the feeling of frustration when u doing hear back from them in the time frame they gave you. I would suggest continue reaching out the them. Also my admission progress still says pending for a lot stuff. I don't pay too much attention to it. I call my advisor when I have questions about anything. Are you trying to get in for the spring term?
Yes I am. I know I still have to do drug and background, do the financial part, and register for classes now that it's December first I'm getting antsy about it all getting done I spoke to the advisor last Tuesday he said I was accepted but he'll have my final decision by the end of that day, and that he would give me a call about it at 5. I didn't hear anything so today I'm hoping to get in touch with him. Are you going to be into your actual nursing classes in January or do you still have prerequisites?
