Nursing Students Chamberlain College

I am researching online MSN programs and have narrowed it down to 2-3 and I was wandering if anyone has gone through the Chamberlain College online program for FNP. If so any advice would be helpful. Did you like the program? If not Why? Would you recommend an online program for a MSN?

Hi Sherri2

I will start Patho in March 15 is there anyway you can email me a copy of the course syllabus to [email protected]. I would like to it a jump start. Thanks

Hi sherri12, I am currently enrolled in class 6 and 7 of CCN FNP courses. I decided to take Epidemiology and Leadership together.... What did you think of those 2? Doable? This will be my first time taking 2 in a session. How is advanced path? Lots of quizzes?

Hi NV-RN,

I had a hard time with Epidemiology. I had a 4.0 GPA until I took that class! lol. But, they are doable together. I work full time (40+hours) and there is a lot of writing papers in both classes. Depends on how much time you have I guess. I wouldn't find the classes "difficult"...just very time consuming. I am not finding advanced path too difficult. I have an A in that class. There is a quiz every week but it is not counted towards your grade. You can take the quiz as many times as you like to help you study for the mid term and the final exam. It is a challenging class, but if you keep up with the posts and reading everyone else's posts, you will do fine. I am enjoying it. Good luck!

Thank you for the response! I am very nervous, but want to get back on track since I missed a session. I don't work 40 hours, but have a crazy busy life. I currently work 3-4 days a week. I am glad to hear that advanced path is not too difficult. Relieved to also know that the quizzes don't count towards our grades. Anyways, I hope we can keep in touch. I am right behind you in this program! :)

Has anyone taken their NP license exam after graduating from Chamberlain? I don't see license passing scores and I just wanted to see how the program prepared you for the exam.

I think the first class might be graduating soon, so maybe we'll get some statistics on pass rates. It's a pretty new program.

It actually comes out to just under 2 years. The curriculum is paper heavy for the first 7 courses, but I also personally know other colleagues attending traditional brick and mortar programs and they say the same thing, classes are paper heavy (when asking about certain classes). It's important to remember that not every school's curriculum is set up like Chamberlain's, a lot of other schools incorporate patho and pharm and health assessment into pre reqs, chamberlain does not and they have you focus on each class at a time. Something to keep in mind.

agreed! I tried the "brick and mortar" and took adv. patho and pharm at the same time, while working FT, etc.....I just couldn't do it and effectively grasp all the info....I'm excited to start at Chamberlain in May....I was really awed by the 8 wk course structure, allowing one to focus.

Hi sherri12,

I am getting ready to start Chamberlain's FNP program this May. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I was thinking of doubling up on my core classes also but want to know which ones do you recommend I do singly? I work 40+ hours a week but am at a point where I do not have big family responsibilities anymore. Your posts have given me great insight so far into Chamberlain's program. It is greatly appreciated!!!

does chambelian have adult nurse practitioner program?
