Can anyone tell me where I can get some information on demographics of CRNAs. I am trying to find out what part of the country most of them are located, how many are female - male, white-black-asian that sort of information. thanks for reading this message.

All of the information you need about nurse anesthetists can be found from the AANA. Their website is . If the information is not there call the home office in Park Ridge and ask for the membership department. They are great folks there and will assist you. They compile their demographic data from membership applications and renewal. It is interesting to note that over 96% of CRNAs belong to the AANA. That is unique among nursing organizations. How many RNs do you know belong to ANA?

The profession is aproximately 58% female/42% male.

I know that this is a year later but I too was interested in this info. I found this on the aana board concerning minority crna's. Being underrepresented in the nursing field as a whole, it's interesting to see how minorities are represented in the field of anesthesia.
