I know it's early, but let's get a thread going. 2015-hopefuls, share your thoughts, concerns, questions, and experiences here!

I'm lacking some pre-reqs so I'm gonna apply next year. Just wondering, what ON schools look at your best x amount of courses in determining your overall GPA? e.g. look at your best 10 full year courses rather than your whole degree. From me reading the posts in this forum, it seems U of T looks at top 20 half year courses?

Also, how would this apply if one takes additional courses after graduating from undergrad?

Good luck all.

For U of T, they only use the courses from your degree program to determine your GPA. York looks at your cGPA, your last 30 credits GPA, and your GPA in the prerequisite courses.

Hi everyone,

I am applying to most of the programs in Ontario - Queens, Mac, Toronto, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. I am curious to know what average Mac and Queens use? They both mention overall/cumulative GPA on their sites, but do they just consider this, or your last year?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

Queens uses GPA of all university courses taken (not just your last year). The site says you need a 2.7 (B-) overall.

Hi everyone,

Are you an RPN bridging to BScN? The reason I ask is because I thought Nipissing only has the 4-year and the bridging program.

I will be graduating this year with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph. Nipissing has a relatively new 2 year BScN program called the Scholar Practioners Program. It's through a virtual campus in Toronto, and placements are in about 4 different hospitals in Downtown Toronto.

Wow, thanks for this info. I had no idea!

I had never heard of the Nipissing program before, thank you so much for the information!

Do you know how it compares to other programs?

Hi everyone,

I am applying to U of T and UWO. I am planning on taking U of T's Continuing Studies 2159 Physiology to fulfill that prereq but I am wondering if anyone knows whether this will fulfill UWO's requirement?

Also is UWO's application solely OUAC? I can't find anything about reference letters or where to send transcripts. Any info about this?

Thanks!

Hi everyone!

Currently in my last year of Kinesiology and Health Science (BSc) at York University, I just applied to 2nd entry nursing for sept 2015. I applied for Western, Trent, York and Humber. I got all my pre-reqs last year. Hopefully I get in and best of luck to everyone !
