nclex utilize in Canada

World Canada CRNE

Can someone enlighten me on this? I've read that by January next year 2015, few provinces in Canada are able to utilize the NCLEX as a license requirement . Is this true?

Meanwhile in Quebec...

I think The states needs to do assessments and verifications before you go. It's not 'transferable' between these 2 countries...

What "states"? The OP is already in the US according to the first post. Canada doesn't have states, we have provinces. If that's what you meant, it's already been pointed out that passing the NCLEX isn't the only aspect of registration in Canada. Applicants also must meet Canadian educational standards, have a high score on an academic level English exam and meet safe practice requirements too.

All provinces will use NCLEX in 2015 and no more CRNE. The Canadian Nurses Association was very mad because they lost a lot of money from all the colleges moving to NCLEX. The test will be on computer and you can work in the States if you pass it and meet requirements.

I was referring to this post, sorry for the confusion ;)

NCLEX is only for RN in Canada and starts in January. For LPN/RPN you still need to take the CRPNE. If you are not Canadian trained you need to apply for NNAS for assessment first. Be forewarned NNAS assessment can take up to two years. http://www.nnas.ca/how-to-apply/

They are now doing the NCLEX in Ontario no more CRNE. I am writing in May after I graduate and the NCLEX we are to write is the same as the American administers NCLEX. The values will be written in both metric and non for both. It is transferable. I am able to write it in US or canada (boarder town have better access to an American city which administers it versus canadian since it's so far..). I'm not sure how they will do the process of you transfer your license to a state from a province. I am supposed to be finding out shortly as I am looking I to it.

But yeah. No more CRNE.

There is no transfer from state to province. You still need to apply to the state BON if US and provincial college if Canada and meet their requirements

I meant applying and not havin to rewrite the same NCLEX you just wrote in Canada to get licensure in US.
