That's what I have seen frm CRNBC, this is a new process for IENs who want to become RN and LPN in Canada.
Starting Aug. 12, 2014, all internationally educated applicants for CRNBC registration must first apply to the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS).
The NNAS will review your application. After the review is complete, the NNAS will send you a report and you can apply for CRNBC registration. Your next steps will then include the Substantially Equivalent Competency Assessment and national nursing exam (as needed).
NNAS has a contract with Canada, actually it's CGFNS system in US. All IENs have to pay $650 USD for this assessment!

Well, this is the case. I am an RN, NCLEX passer (Illinois) , with almost 3 yrs hospital experience, with IELTS. In fact, I have ongoing Canadian immigration application too and waiting for the embassy interview. Based on that information that will be implemented by January 2015, i was just wondering if you know, given that I'm an NCLEX passer, somehow hoping I can utilize my license there in Canada and get a better job.
Even if you have NCLEX in the US you still have to go through the process of application with the province and if they decide you need to attend some form of assessment there is no getting round that. The province may accept the NCLEX pass for the US and that is their decision and we haven't seen all provinces say they will accept NCLEX but other requirements still must be met before a license allowing you to work as a RN is issued
All provinces will use NCLEX in 2015 and no more CRNE. The Canadian Nurses Association was very mad because they lost a lot of money from all the colleges moving to NCLEX. The test will be on computer and you can work in the States if you pass it and meet requirements.
seriously? why would anyone take the CRNE then? wait til January!

This statement shows how little you know about this. Do some research before you post.

Can someone enlighten me on this? I've read that by January next year 2015, few provinces in Canada are able to utilize the NCLEX as a license requirement . Is this true?
