Walnut Creek

U.S.A. California

Hello

I am currently in Florida and a new grad. My husband and I (before kids) lived in San Fran and have missed the Bay Area ever since the day we left. We are considering a return after I get a year of experience under my belt. We are thinking Walnut Creek. Does anyone have any information for me on the area? We have four young (school age) daughters ....so great schools and family friendly neighborhoods a must!

My husband's company has an office in Walnut Creek, so we are hoping he could just transfer. I am wondering about my job prospects. The cost-of-living scares me! Any info you could give me on local hospitals and the pay rate I might expect (I wont need benefits--so maybe PRN?). SF and Marin hospitals have salary scales right on their websites, but no such luck at John Muir, etc.

Thanks in Advance!

Pleasant Hill maybe?. I wouldn't call Pleasanton "a bit less expensive" if you compare it to pittsburg lol.

Pittsburg is Ghettooo...lol...its not like richmond bad, but its pretty bad...one step lower than Antioch

If Walnut Creek is too expensive, try Pleasant Hill, Concord (if it's a "nice" area, Concord can be shady), Dublin, Castro Valley. All have had prices come down quite a bit. Again, avoid Pittsburg, Antioch, Vallejo I'd say.

Specializes in LTC.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I was comparing Pleasanton to Walnut Creek.
