UC Davis RN Residency February 2014

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello! I just wanted to start a thread regarding the residency starting in February 2014 at UCDMC. Applications opened at midnight this morning. I wish everyone the best of luck!

Perhaps a follow up call to see determine where they are in the process? I plan on doing that as well later today.

I wish I could give advice...I have been told that there are questions that they ask on every unit, but i spoke to a NM friend in peds and the NM i interviewed with, their questions were totally different. The interview started with her explaining the layout of the unit, basically answering my questions before I got a chance to ask them! it lasted about 45 minutes. Personally, I am not very good at interviews, I stuttered alot and wasn't my usual articulate self.

I would think back to your nursing school interviews, and the questions they asked. It was alot like that.

Those of you who had an interview, has anybody been asked to do skills survey? I read the posts for previous cohort, and it seems like they ask those candidates that they are interested in hiring to do skills survey after the interview. Anybody? Thanks!

The Skills Survey is an online reference check. You must input your references and contact them to complete the survey (they receive it via email from UCD HR) as soon as possible to speed up the process. :)

Did you do it already? I was never asked to do reference check.

I had my interview today and got the reference checks email a few hours later. It might depend on the unit you interviewed with and how far along they are in their interviews.

@ADEcstatic, congrats! You are almost there. I think you got the position:):) high chance:)

Thanks, @mikij!! Crossing my fingers! Drove from LA last night to make sure I make it on time to my interview today. LOL. I'm looking forward to hearing more good news from everyone here!

 @ADEcstatic I wish you best of luck! I drove up there from San diego. It was a long drive. But, I am thankful I had an opportunity to even have an interview:p hehe

Me, too, @mikij! After getting rejected from Stanford and never hearing back from UCSF, I was pretty sure UCD was also a no go. It was a nice surprise to get an interview. Let me know if your status changes as well! :) Good luck!!

@ADEcstatic, hahaha same here... I was rejected from stanford and never heard back from UCSF. I'm about to apply for a job out of states now................

I got an interview with Patient Care Resources. Does anyone have any experience with this? My interview is one hour long, so I'm not sure what she will cover. Thanks!
