UC Davis Residency March 2013

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone, I just applied to UCD's new grad program for spring of next year and didn't see any threads so I though I'd start one. Please post any updates or info you get about the residency!

Thanks!

No, they offered me a phone interview since I live in Los Angeles, but I declined. I'm going there next week for an interview! Pray for me and wish me luck please : )

Good luck! When did they contact you? Also, what unit did you do your preceptorship in? Are you interviewing for a spot in the same kind of unit?

They contacted me last Tuesday. I did my preceptorship in the Ambulatory Surgery Center and I applied to New Grad OR Training Program. Thank you so much jomort08!

Congrats Regina!

Did you submit your application on the first day the portal opened? That's amazing that they got back to you so fast!

Did you do your preceptorship @ UCDMC?

Thank you! I applied on 10/5. This was a separate application specifically for the OR that I think ended on 10/11. I did my preceptorship in LA, CA.

Hi reginasmalls good luck on your interview, hope you'll get it. UCD only contacted people for OR training, not for RN residency. I start in less than 2 weeks (process was so quick) and I thought I would start in March. But I was told that OR training and RN residency would merge together in March. Recruiters are wonderful in UCDMC compare to other hospitals.

I emailed the recruitment coordinator this morning and he has already responded! He said that hey are currently pre-screening over 700 applicants and will be routing those to the departments in December/January. Departments will be contacting applicants for interviews by mid January 2013. Good Luck!!!

Thanks Dlib, thats good information.

Hi nebit27! When did you have your interview!? I had no idea the program starts in 2 weeks :o I was going to ask the interviewer when it starts during my interview. I have a few questions about the interview you had with UCDMC OR and I hope you are willing to answer and help me out. I would really appreciate it : )

Was it a one-on-one interview or a panel interview?

What questions did they ask?

How long was the interview?

When did they contact you that they are offering you the job?

Thank you.

sorry I forgot about this site and haven't check it since I posted. Now I'm not going to be helpful. I was shocked my self to find out how quickly I start. It was 3 people panel. I can't post questions I was asked. Since you had your senior semester in OR you did fine, i know:) But still, did you get it and when do you start? Hope to see you next Monday (one day before election:)))

All I know that it's going to be a big group of new nurses. I was told 10-13 but not sure if all of us starts on November 5 (some might start in March, as other RN residency)

UCDMC OR is amazing; I was there, it's all high tech and very modern. I am so excited to work there and specially got paid for 40 hours every week! I'm poor broken student

oh, maybe it would helpful for others: interview was 1 hour and they asked 20 questions and each of them were taking notes and rate your answers. They told me they will call me in 7 days but called just in few. The management was great and I felt welcome right away. Good luck everyone!

It sounds like many of you have gotten great responses... I haven't gotten any calls back, have any of you had your preceptorships/ clinicals there or live in So-Cal? I'm from Nor-Cal and am wondering if it's because I live so far away :/ There is hardly anything as far as jobs go up here and I don't have anyone to to talk to about getting a leg up on the apps for many of the LA-area hospitals and am hoping to gain some insight. Thanks and Congrats ladies!
