Scripps New Grad Nurse Residency 2013

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello fellow new grads!

I'm starting this post to round up all the applicants for the 2013 cohort at Scripps in San Diego. I called HR today and they were rather tight-lipped about when the application would post, and was told "It will post in about 30-45 days" and to "keep checking the website". Enlightening, isn't it? Also to those who applied for the last round and will be re-applying, any tips you want to share for us newbies? thanks and I look forward to hearing from everyone that's just as stressed as I am.

Shars, I'm originally from L.A. but have lived here in S.D. since 2003. How about you?

Hey spanglec, I got hillcrest, too, the dou unit. Have you received any emails after the call?

I'm from Santa Barbara, been living in LA for the past two years, and relocating to SD in February... I need to figure out where to live! I'm thinking Ocean Beach, but I really don't know. Lots of changes coming up in the next couple months :)

Hey spanglec, I got hillcrest, too, the dou unit. Have you received any emails after the call?

I think that may be the unit I am in to! All three of my managers said they were tele/dou so im not sure if Hillcrest has like separate units or what not.

Yes right after I accepted the offer I received an email immediately explaining what will happen next...did you not get that one?

Spanglec, no I didn't get that email, eeks!! Who was it from? --------------??

When did ----------- call you? She called me late Thursday night and said she was going to be out of the office for a few days so she let me call back in Friday with my decision and another lady spoke to me and sent me the email (but from ------------- because she is our point of contact now). Give her a call maybe? PM me if you need email/phone etc.

Thanks spanglec, I emailed her and told her I haven't received a follow up email yet. I was called Thursday Morning and I don't think it was -------------, the lady told me if I had any questions to call ------------, but she did want my answer right then. She did say I would get an email, that's why I was starting to get worried when I didn't get one... I am new to all nurses, but so glad I was able to find out this info from you :)

Yeah she wanted an answer from me immediately also but I had just gotten off work and was running to a cycle class and I was so flustered I was like I need a few minutes haha. So she let me call back the next day thank goodness. Even though I knew I was going to say yes haha just needed a second to get my ducks in a row.

So odd that you didnt get the email most likey she just forgot because she was gone the next day and I am sure she has been very busy. :) look forward to meeting you!

I look forward to meeting you too, spanglec! I just joined here today so it won't let me PM yet, but I do have -------------'s info on an older email she sent about the interview. Thanks again for all your help and Congrats, Yay!!! :)

Congrats to you too Irishpepper! As well as everyone else :)

Hey everyone!

If anyone hears from ------------ anything regarding alternates, please post on here. Thanks! I'm hoping most of us will get positions like the summer 2012 new grad alternates.

It's going to be Thursday and I haven't heard anything...sigh...

Hey, for any of you that have already taken your NCLEX, how long does it take California to cash your check that was with your application? I sent my application in last tuesday (12/4) and they still have not cashed it, should I be worried? Or am I being inpatient?
