SCRIPPS New Grad Program August 2012

Hey all!

I wanted to start this thread for those of us that applied to Scripps New Grad Program for August 2012.

I uploaded my app and finished the Talentmine appraisal on Monday, May 14, at 2 pm. I hear that the first 500 apps (the limit that they will consider) tend to be uploaded on the first day. I am checking every couple of hours to see if my app status has been changed from: "Application Received" to: "Application Under Review". Nothing yet, (22 hours later). Those who applied on Nov. 7 2011, heard within 10 days if they were scheduled for an interview.

Let's keep each other posted, okay? Let us know if you are:

1) An "internal" or "external" candidate,

2) Any experience as a CNA or NA

3) Age

4) BSN or ADN and when you graduate(d)

5) School and GPA (if comfortable)

6) Local or from out of San Diego

7) Talentmine Category breakdown by percentages (If you saved/printed that screen with the Pie Chart out)

8) If you received an email for an interview

This will help us figure out what Scripps is looking for.

I had no idea that they had a waiting list either. I wonder how many people are on it. Don't give up hope yet!

Congrats to those who are chosen as alternates, in addition to those who received offers!

Let's hope the ones with offers decide quickly if they are going to decline so that the alternates can be given offers! Good luck to you all!

Yeah when I got the email I was really surprised. I was expecting a straight rejection email not one that said I was chosen as an alternate. I am so happy I didn't delete it. To everyone who received an email keep your head up and don't lose focus because of a minor setback as they will only make you stronger. I guarantee you will see I am right after your next interview. Hi guys! I am a lurker on this thread, but thought I'd pitch in at this late date. I have not received either a rejection email or a phone call (I am in limbo still). Anyone else in this position?

I'm from SD, so I could give you suggestions. What hospital are you going to be working at? That will be a huge determining factor in what area you should live in.

Ohh, me too! That area is really expensive, but I am looking to relocate closer to work. I would say reasonably priced areas are University City (lots of UCSD students), Pacific Beach (PB...a little bit rundown but a very popular place for younger ppl), Sorrento Valley (quieter, but harder to find apartments in the area), and Mira Mesa (a cheaper alternative than the rest but the area is older and crowded). If you don't care about being too close to work and want to save money but still have a little culture/fun environment I'd recommend Kensington/North Park/Normal Heights/Hillcrest...although Hillcrest can be pricey and some parts of these areas can be really run down! If you want to live in the middle of SD so you are closer to everything but a little farther from work, I'd say Mission/Fashion Valley. What price range are you looking at?
