Hey all!

I wanted to start this thread for those of us that applied to Scripps New Grad Program for August 2012.

I uploaded my app and finished the Talentmine appraisal on Monday, May 14, at 2 pm. I hear that the first 500 apps (the limit that they will consider) tend to be uploaded on the first day. I am checking every couple of hours to see if my app status has been changed from: "Application Received" to: "Application Under Review". Nothing yet, (22 hours later). Those who applied on Nov. 7 2011, heard within 10 days if they were scheduled for an interview.

Let's keep each other posted, okay? Let us know if you are:

1) An "internal" or "external" candidate,

2) Any experience as a CNA or NA

3) Age

4) BSN or ADN and when you graduate(d)

5) School and GPA (if comfortable)

6) Local or from out of San Diego

7) Talentmine Category breakdown by percentages (If you saved/printed that screen with the Pie Chart out)

8) If you received an email for an interview

This will help us figure out what Scripps is looking for.

Good luck to all of us!

I got into Scripps Mercy and will be working nights! I'm out of town and live in the Bay Area currently. I want to be close to work but at a reasonable price. I'd like to stay away from unsafe areas... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

Hi Jenn! I'm from the bay area as well! I've been talking to some people and they've been saying that UTC is a great area! I'm actually thinking of renting a condo at a reasonable price but nothing set in stone yet. I'd say that for how pricey SD living is, the pay isn't that great for nurses!

Hi fm87!

Congrats!!! Yes, I'm looking in that same area. What apartment complexes are you looking at? I'm flying down fri to look at a bunch and hopefully sign a lease!

I interviewed back in June for the program, but didn't get a spot. I was recently contacted because they have spots they want to fill, and they want to interview me again. I'm curious to know how many people they're interviewing or how many spots there are. Was anyone else contacted?

Specializes in Dermatology.

Wow I'm surprised that they are still interviewing ... we finished our orientation last week and have already started on the floor. Good luck to you!

Hello,

I too was interviewed in June and didn't get a position at that time.

I just got an email today that they will be having another small second Fall cohort, and they were sending emails to determine who was interested of the "strong candidates" they identified during those interviews.

They said the cohort would begin early December, and that they would contact again next week to those interested about the next steps. I think they're still working with nurse management to determine the timeline.

I'm not sure how many positions they might have, but it's great that they will add a few more spots! :-) Good luck!

Anyone get any updates?

During your interview were you asked what shift you preferred? How about once you got an offer? Did you have an option between days and nights?

ADNs do qualify....I am graduating with my ADN December 14 (I also have a BA and MA in English from SDSU) and GOT AN INTERVIEW! Interviewed last Monday and it went really well:) Said they will send out notifications the week of December 10....

I got a job offer today too!!!! Scripps Green - Definitive Observation! SO excited! Good Luck to everyone else and hope you hear good news soon!!!!

Hi jenn3999,

Congrats on your last years offer. How was your new grad experience? Were you hired after residency? I am interview with Scripps next Friday, and I am very excited. I was wondering if you would be so kind to share some interview tips, so I can better prepare myself.

Thank you!
