Hey all!

I wanted to start this thread for those of us that applied to Scripps New Grad Program for August 2012.

I uploaded my app and finished the Talentmine appraisal on Monday, May 14, at 2 pm. I hear that the first 500 apps (the limit that they will consider) tend to be uploaded on the first day. I am checking every couple of hours to see if my app status has been changed from: "Application Received" to: "Application Under Review". Nothing yet, (22 hours later). Those who applied on Nov. 7 2011, heard within 10 days if they were scheduled for an interview.

Let's keep each other posted, okay? Let us know if you are:

1) An "internal" or "external" candidate,

2) Any experience as a CNA or NA

3) Age

4) BSN or ADN and when you graduate(d)

5) School and GPA (if comfortable)

6) Local or from out of San Diego

7) Talentmine Category breakdown by percentages (If you saved/printed that screen with the Pie Chart out)

8) If you received an email for an interview

This will help us figure out what Scripps is looking for.

Good luck to all of us!

What unit are you in? We should exchange info since we'll be seeing eachother soon!I've been looking into UTC because it's more reasonably priced and a cleaner area. I've been looking into apartment complexes on charmant drive. I don't want to spend more than 1100$/mo but looks like cheapest is 1300-1400$/mo. What about you?

DOU, what about you? PM me with your info and I'll do the same! UTC is a nice area, I used to live over there when I went to UCSD. Lots of college students! I'm living with my boyfriend so we don't want to spend more than 1600 if possible...we currently pay 1000 right now for a 1 br over in College area by SDSU...it is a bit older so we'd like to move to a nicer place that we'd like to settle/stay in for a few years! SD is just so expensive!

Congrats to those that got offers. In terms of places to live, I live in Mira Mesa myself. Mira Mesa has everything you need within miles of each other. You can find condos and town homes to rent in the area. These are better alternatives compared to the apartments. You can also take calle cristibol which turns into sorrento valley road to escape the traffic on Mira Mesa blvd. The drive is about 12-16 minutes I Scripps Green. Just my input to help y'all out.

Got a call from ------------- a few hours ago. I got accepted off of the waiting list for Scripps Encinitas' surgical acute unit. She said they are hoping to be done with offers off of the waiting list in the next day or so. See you guys in San Diego-looks like I'm moving!!!

Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I was accepted into Encinitas surgical acute unit as well. I'm relocating and have been looking for places to rent in northern SD county but am having a hard time finding places that either look legit or are affordable. I'm 22 yrs old so I also want to live somewhere that will be fun with lots to do. I've been looking as far south as the La Jolla area and University City but don't know if that commute will be terrible or not. Since I'm new to SD I'm thinking of living south of Encinitas so that getting to downtown SD will be a relatively short drive (under 30 mins w minimal traffic) should I choose to go on adventures. Any and all input would be much appreciated. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Yey! Congrats!

I used to live in SD and honestly, downtown gets old really quickly. It's super expensive to get a cab to and from there and if you drive you have to worry about parking and then driving home. I would live as close to work as possible. Encinitas is an awesome town, but ur right, it's a little bit older (I'm in my late 20's and over the bar scene). PB is a really fun option for young people, but that drive is going to suck big time. Just some food for thought-hope it helps!

I am relocating from the Bay Area. I'm looking into apartment complexes in La Jolla/UTC areas.

Thank you wish4.. that was perfect advice. Do you know much about Carlsbad? That's the other area I've been considering

I love Carlsbad! Everything is so nice there, plus there are some bars along Carlsbad/Encinitas that a lot of younger people go too. Of course it's not as busy as PB, but I still like it. Plus, you're really close to the beach! I personally really like Encinitas as well. Good luck in apartment hunting!

I didn't spend a lot of time in Carlsbad except for shopping at the outlet mall that's there :)
