Rady Childrens or Sharp RN Residency

U.S.A. California

Did anyone else apply to these hospitals for their upcoming residency this summer? The wait is making me crazy I want a shot so bad at a job or at least an interview.

I applied to Sharp New Grad program. I read they are not conducting interviews til April, so we have a while before we hear anything. Good luck!

Yeah I read that as well. Maybe I should have asked how do you feel about your chances of getting an interview? Does anyone know how many applicants they are actually accepting? If I rem correctly Rady is only accepting 14 people and they have 5 departments.

Sharp has several hospitals, so hopefully they hire more than 14. Which units did you apply for?

Exactly. I applied to Med Surg/ PCU/ Telemetry and ED. What about you?

Are you still in school or are you a RN already? If you are an RN already, when did you graduate?

I am applying for Med/Surg for sure, and deciding on the other unit. I applied but need to send in my portfolio. I am an RN and graduated in June 2009. How about you?

I am really nervous about how many applicants there are. The UCSD program in Jan. hired 14 people and had over 800 apply!

Yeah I would love to do Med/Surg to get my skills up gain a great amount of knowledge. I applied and sent my portfolio in on the same day they open up for applications. Okay me too I graduated in May 2009. I'm nervous about the samething because I have applied to many hospitals with high applicant numbers and little openings. So what are you doing in the mean time? I took an ACLS class about two weeks ago so I could have that on my resume and I learned so much in that course I really enjoyed.

I also took an ACLS a couple weeks ago, and am looking for other classes to take. Hopefully since we already have our license it will put up a step above a few other candidates!

Have you looked for jobs anywhere other than SD?

You might of been in the one I took my class was held in Mira Mesa. Yes I hope that does put us at the top of the pile along with ACLS. The reason why I applied to Telemetry is because I was an CNA for 5 years on tele, I had two clinicals on tele and open heart and I did my preceptorship on telemetry. Yes I've looked from San Diego to Orange county to San Bern and everything in between. What about you?

I took my class in Chula Vista. I have also been looking for jobs as far as L.A. Sounds like you have good tele experience so I think you have a good chance!
