pasadena city college rn program fall 2013

has anyone applied to pasadena's rn program for fall 2013? has anyone been accepted into east pasadena's rn program? if so what was your pre-reqs grades? mines aren't all that great that's why i am so worried i will not get in because my pre-reqs gpa is only 2.79...do i even have a chance at getting in? please advise...so stressed out :( im not a bad student... i just don't have the time to study like im supposed to...i am a working full time single mother with two children and couldn't dedicate my time to so much studying...i was lucky if i even got 10 hours of studying a week

I emailed PCC yesterday that ill be giving up my spot. Keep your hopes up!

Oh congrats you got in! :) I took most of my pre reqs there. I would've applied there but I missed the application period! I think it was only for like 8 days. Haha. Good luck!

Hey Z,

Orientation was good. But LOOONG! Now comes the part where we all rush around getting vaccines and physicals and obscenely expensive uniforms. (Seriously? Did anyone else check out the Dove apparel site? Yowzers! I have always maintained a love-hate relationship with white clothing because I am a magnet for icky stuff. I think maybe I should buy Dove stock now...)

Yes! I bought two sets of uniform from Dove and it came out to be almost $200! And our school scrubs are also white which worries me because I have the same problem as you do! I'll probably have coffee stains on the first week. :)

I know PCC's nursing building is off campus but from the pictures the facility seems really nice. kind of jealous.

I checked out the Dove website - so expensive! White scrubs are not the business... I believe I'll be investing in buckets and buckets of OxyClean haha

The staff seems really helpful...

I was surprised there wasn't mention of fingerprinting or drug testing... Maybe that comes in the first semester...

I was also a little bit surprised that I wasn't the only one from Sacramento haha

Also, I'm not really sure why they don't drug test. I thought all nursing schools did. Weird. Though they have Livescan capabilities there on campus. Maybe they do it themselves? Seems weird that they wouldn't want it taken care of before we start. I imagine they have a plan for it.

And Jeli, we start on August 26; all of our background, medical clearance, insurance, etc is due on August 1. I think we are all going to be some busy people in the coming weeks. They ask for a lot of things!

Also when I ordered my background check, I chose my county of residence and not LA county... That's probably right, right?
