Need Advice

Im new to this but need advice about my new job.

I have good news and bad news... The bad news is I told my employers about not being being able to work as an IP anymore. But they too were so supportive and said theres always one who doesn't make it. They made me feel so good. They even offered to give a lower posotion as an aide but I declined since I still have my per diem job at another hospital. But the good news is they said there would be a job waiting when I do pass so that was nice to hear. But Im not going to focus on anything else except passing the boards....

Thanks everyone for the support...

Took Boards on 2/28, I got 75 questions. I walked out of there feeling I was sure of a few questions but not all.

You can check the website at ca.brn.gov.....click on to license verification and just type your name. If it shows up then your licence # will show up with RN on it. My friends had theirs show up in 2-3 days after taking it, and recieved their licence within a week. Im sure you passed.... 75 is better than me because I went all the way to 265 and the results showed I almost passed in a 3 places, all the rest was above passing.

Good Luck.... And let me the good news...

Thanks for replying. I really need someone to talk to. I called Boards and my evaluator said she's not allowed to tell me my results over the phone. And then she said if she tells me my result I could loose my job (I'm using Interim Permit) because my IP will be void. She said it's best for me to wait for my result in 2 weeks. By the way do you think you can teach my how to post new threads on this thing. Thank you so much for anything you can help me with.

I got 2 exams and I failed them both. And results of my last exam seem very suspicious to me. They are lower then results of my first test. And I used Kaplan online course between this tests, although it did not help. I sent an application for rescoring my results but I think its poinless - I cant just prove that I pass NCLEX because of some mistake.

And I saw stats for 2003 year and I saw that number of passing people who repeat this test is significally low...So maybe passing this test for foreign graduates (as I am) is like a winning a lottery? Huh?:angryfire

Im not sure but I think it's pretty hard to challenge a computer based result. I think it's getting harder because they want to ensure safety as a begining nurse. My problem the first time was I came in there really nervous and suddenly I could not put things together. What Im doing this time around is going back really understanding the theory base of each diease process, doing care plans, ect. and of course lots of answer/questions from review books. Saunders seem to be the best Iv'e seen. Especially with the test getting harder Im gonna study even harder. I figure if I really understand the thoery of it and apply it to the questions on the review books I should be ok. Along with lots and lots of preyer....

A person I work with is a forienger and she passed the first time with 75 and she studied intencely for only 2 weeks. I was so embaressed because I recieved education here with a BSN and didn't pass. My results showed I was above passing in all areas but 3, pharm. was always my problem because I cant seem to memorize those dam meds. Anyone with any suggestions?!?! Then again a forgien doctor taking the NCLEX didn't pass either so I didn't feel so bad, she thought the test was so indirect and that you really have to apply critical thinking to it. So don't feel so bad...We can do this...I just means we need keep trying harder, and not waste time thinking of "I should have..." "I could have..." just try harder and give it your all. That will tell how much you really want it.

to "almost an RN", actually I have a friend here (she is russian too) and we were preparing for this test together, so basicly we knew each other options in passing NCLEX and they were the same. I mean when we had Kaplan tests we scored about 75-80%. And it seemed enough to us to pass exam. And she passed with the same quantity of questions :75. And I did not. You may believe or not, but I'm sure that I became a victim of this terrible mistake. And I know that its impossible to prove it.:stone However I'm not going to give up.....:rotfl:

Oh... good then I think you should fight for what you truely believe in. There definately isn't any harm to it. Dont get me wrong .... I believe mistakes do happen....
