NCLEX Result???

I graduate in may06, do i need to wait until my classes and final grades are completed before i start the process for CA boards. I start my job on the 27th of july...i will be moving from pa and i'm wondering if i will get my results and all that in time. ??

Since you are comming from a different state I would contact the BRN, I would thing that you can start the application process prior to graduation, since the school here do.

You may be able to work under you Pa license for a while until you get your Ca license?!? I'm not sure about that. But here is the site for the Ca BRN.

If from another state, you need a completed set of transcripts to take the exam for CA, if not from a CA school. CA bypasses this requirement for students enrolled in CA schools.

You cannot work in CA with a license from another state.

If you have a SSN#, it only takes on average of ten days or so to get your results here. Never one year...............

It takes four to six months to get approval to sit for the exam if you are a foreing grad, but that is a completely different story.

You can also sit for your exam for PA, and then just endorse right away to CA. And that can be done right away. Line in one day.

I never, ever recommend the IP. You have too much to learn when you start your new job, let alone trying to prepare for the exam, not a good idea. And especially most of all, if you are moving to a new state.

I took Nclex exam last March 2,I applied in California BON. I frequently look up my name in BON site in Cali but my name is not there, does it mean I failed the exam?

hi.. no. it doesnt mean that. they dont post your licensure number i think one or 2 moths after u become a nurse. i feel you . the wait is horrible. :nono:

I took the test on march 1 st of this year for LVN is there any way to to find the results, I am going crazy. also The test stoped at either 85 or 86, and from what everyone that I have talked to that was in my class it has stoped on the at 85 also? Does this mean anything?

i feel your anxiey with waiting for the results at least im not the only one chekcing the mailbox.. well sad to say this willl be my 4th time taking it. proud of it 2. it sux but what can i do.. well..they say give it at least one month . stopping at 85 doesnt mean anything. means that the computer is satisfied with your compentency or not satisfied and will not go on. trust me. ive been through it already. sadly.:angryfire

Maybe they are just in the process of verifying the documents that you submitted. I tiik my exam Feb 20 and received my results (I passed thanks GOD!) after 15 days. Just keep on praying while waiting.

If the nurse does not have a social security number, and foreign nurses do not, they will not see their name on the BRN website until they actually arrive in the US and get the SSN#, and then submit it to the BRN. Takes a week of so after that to receive it.

CA only will send the nurse a letter by snail mail to say that they passed and meet all requirements except for not having the SSN#. This takes about one month. They are not actually licensed in CA/ the US unitl they can provide the SSN#.. They are also unable to endorse the license, since legally they have not had a number assigned to them as of yet.

California actually updates their website on a daily basis, if you have a SSN#.

If you are a foreign nurse, and not in the US, the wait time is one month on average.
