U.S.A. California

Hi,

I am currently waiting on an acceptance (or denial) letter form National University BSN program at the Los Angeles campus. I applied to cohort 11 that starts in May 2014. Anyone else applied for this cohort? If there is anybody already in the program, do you mind sharing the break down of your scores. 3 more weeks till I find out

MJOHNSON,

Thanks for the heads up! It seems like the closer we get to orientation day the more nervous I'm getting...lol. If you hear a scream of joy in the room, that'll be me (jk)! We worked so hard to get to this point. Again, Best of luck! :)

Hi! I'm in cohort 10. We started in November 2013. I don't remember my exact GPA but it was roughly 3.5. I got an 87.4 on the TEAS and never asked about my essay score.

Our professor was saying they are looking at essays now so you should hopefully hear something soon!

Good luck :) happy to answer any questions, too!

Hi i was wondering how your application went? Did you get in?

Im thinking of applying to national, i want to do all my prereqs there too. How was your experience at national? Did you take any online courses or did you transfer there? Did you take on campus classes?

Im just trying to find out how peoples experiences were, i keep finding bad reviews on the school so i want to find things out from students who are currently there.

Thanks so much!!

Im thinking of applying to national, i want to do all my prereqs there too, i have 3 classes done from a previous college but i still need all the orher pre reqs/generals. How was your experience at national? Did you take any online courses or did you transfer there? Did you take on campus classes?

Whatever you do. Don't take Anatomy and Physiology with the female professor. She is very hard, lack teaching skills and most of my class did not do well. The lectures did not match what we were tested on. alot of old material given as study guides that are not what is tested on and its was very hard trying to get through the class when nothing matched. She used the hybrid course type for the course when it is not hybrid and there were virtual online labs that she required on top of the work you are already loaded with. The course load was doubled in A&P 2 than it was in A&P 1. I don't think I can say names on here. But I would research before taking the class.

The male professor for A&P 1 is good. We passed his class fine. We have to retake A&P 2. I am preparing to retake classes at the community college because it cost less and more easier to handle with workload and more time to learn the subject. Took A&P 8 years ago at my community college and got an A. I loved the class there but it has to be within 5 years so I had to take it again. I am thinking about going back to get better grades.

For National University, Be prepared to work really hard to get through all the science classes. They are very tough and if you are not on your work like crazy, or have a job that is not demanding you either will not make it or your grade will be very low.

Just my insight

The classes are 8 weeks long and you must keep up and attend EVERY Class Day. I am finding that many get C's in their classes and only maybe 1 or 2% get A's there. Some language barriers and course cirriculum issues exist.

You will have 2 days during the week and a Saturday Class about 4 or 5 times. For Example I am in class Monday and Wednesday and have Saturday Class 5 times this course. I am in Microbiology right now

Thank you so much that helps a lot.

Hi guys,

I'm also planning to apply to National University as well. I spoke with one of the adviser and he mentioned that if know anyone that attends to the university, my application will be waived. Is there anyone that doesn't mind if i refer your name to my adviser? You can private message me, thank you.

@ShondaJ Just wondering how is NU going? I'm just submitting my transcripts, hoping to start my pre-reqs in Jan/Feb at the LA campus. (:

deekayy you can use me Shonda Johnson, I attended the Los Angeles Campus.

The school was ok. I am not doing my nursing program with them because you can't work and go to school with them.

The pre-reqs were cool. Alot of studying and focus.

I wish I could take their program being that I am so close to the school.

I wish you luck and let me know how it goes.

@ShondaJ was it easy to transfer all your pre reqs to your nursing program? Im not thinking of attending their nursing program i am just wanting to do my pre reqs there since it is the fastest that i can get. Im really interested in transfering to a school that is way closer for me. BTW what nursing program are you attending if you dont mind me asking? And how do you like it? Are you able to work and go to school??! I think that would be a great option vs not being able to work at all!! (:

@ShondaJ My admissions counselor just asked me if i know anyone who attended NU, if you dont mind may i use you? You are the only person i know who attended NU. TIA!

Hey Tia,

Yes you can use me. I will send you a PM.

My plan is to get into 's Pre-licensing BSN program in October 2015.

They are an online prelicensing program with clinicals provided in LA, Pasadena, Los Alamitos and a couple of other Southern California Locations. Mainly LA, Orange and I believe Riverside County. I hear nothing but Great things about him and I am excited to get there.
