Can anyone provide the hourly salaries for home health in san francisco

thanks

Wow...you're getting paid by the task? I just get an hourly rate......but at least this way I still get paid when times are lean.

Depends on where your cases are going to be and how long that it takes you to complete the paperwork as well. Traffic can be quite bad and it can cut into the number of visits that you can make in a day. So getting paid by the visit is not necessarily a good thing at all.

If they are all in one very close area, then not bad. But scattered around, and not a good thing. You may only get four visits actually done because of the commute.

And then if the agency's census is down, you will not get paid.

Specializes in Critical Care, Case Mgt, Home health.

that's not too bad; it's actually more than I make doing home health.

What company is this? As far as the commute, it depends on the area. Will you be a case manager? I see 5-6 pt's a day.

Can anyone provide the hourly salaries for home health in san francisco

thanks

The SF bay area ranges from 15 to 36 dollars an hour. I am topped out at 36 dollars (I work in acute care- ER, IV certified). I will only get "step" increases per my union contract. I am told that LVN's in my pay grade make more than many RN's in other states. Try looking for jobs at an acute care hospital or clinic. Once you leave the bay area the rate drops exponentially. RN's in the bay area are probably the highest paid in the country, or even perhaps, the world. A starting RN1 at Kaiser makes 43 an hour with 6 more for PM's and 8 more for nights. I will be taking the NCLEX soon-but jobs area tight everywhere. The average RN2 is making between 43-73 dollars an hour in acute care (depending on level of care, regular, short hour or per diem).

Getting back to LVN's-the pay divides greatly from long term to acute care.

Average pay is in the mid 20's (or higher in acute care) and varies with IV cert and years of experience.

Kaiser is one of the best hospital/clinics because of benefits and parity (rate of pay outside the bay area). Many of the hospitals are "getting rid" of LVN's and the trend is to hire only RN's now. There are "target" hospitals that will only hire BSN's! So if you are an LVN, I wish you luck finding a job! A word of advice-get your RN!!!!

The average rate of pay for LTC's is 15 to 20. Kaisers LTC pays the best -over 20 depending on years exp. Try checking them out!!!

The poster was asking out about home health, not hospital wages.

And RN wages as well.

And the post is from over a year ago. Hope that they are still not looking.

He! If they were looking for work in the Bay area, they could very well still be looking after a year! ;)

But they were asking for Home Health pay and that for an RN.

Not hospital and for an LPN.

And if more than a year old and they have not found work as of yet.......

Dear Suzanne4

The dc in drbob1dc stands for doctor of chiropractic. I have been a licensed dc since the early 90's, an lvn since 1992, x-ray supervisor since 1990, and soon, hopefully, a licensed RN. I have worked in ltc, home health, rehab, and for the last 11 years ER. I recieved my RN from Excelsior and am now opting for a masters through Cal State.

As far as I know, jobs, even in nursing, are getting harder to find everywhere. The pay is better in CA-but the cost of living is much higher...

Thank you for pointing out the obvious, thats what happens when you work nights and try to answer queries that are over a year old!

Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate it.

Just noticed that you mentioned Excelsior. Please check with the BRN, even with obtaining the Master's degree in nursing, this may not get you licensed in CA unless you complete everything over again as if you have never taken any RN program at all. Make sure that the program is for everything from the beginning and taking into account what you did at Excelsior or they are not going to accept it. Unfortunately, have seen this happen too many times with the BRN.

Best of luck to you.
