did you guys put your cover letter in the packet??
No. I felt that my Letter of Intent was exactly like a cover letter. I let them know about myself and why I want to work in their hospital/unit. I didn't want to be repeating myself too much and give them extra unnecessary paperwork.
If you feel the need to include a cover letter though, then do so. I just felt I got my point across in my Letter of Intent.
yeah. I see what you are saying. I just felt that they know a cover letter is "the same" as a letter of intent but why would they ask for both?? but one of my mentors told me different. she said the cover letter is just talking about what is included in the packet or the enclosures. kinda like an introduction. letter of intent is when you put stuff like why you want to work there or what not. I put both in there just to make sure. but hey who really knows what these people want!
just sent my packet in the mail! i should have it in by wednesday or thursday. good luck to us all! :)
I also think that we tend to over think things sometimes! Haha. I feel that as long as we get our point across and everything is in the packet that they wanted, we're good :)

Totally agree with you here. It's the being stuck in limbo that really sucks.

It will probably about 2 months before we here anything. I remember last time apps opened up in September/October and people didn't get interviewed until late November/December. They do not care that you have to pay $500 to get last minute flights. I know people who were living in the East Coast that were told about their interviews only one week in advance. And remember, CHLA does 3 interviews. Some had to pay for flights, hotels, and car rentals THREE separate times. It can get quite expensive so save money now and be prepared to make that investment. They will not do Skype interviews. And CHLA makes the final decision after 3rd interview. I had a classmate that did not get a job offer after the 3rd interview. Just wanted to give you a heads up about potentially making 3 trips out to Los Angeles!
Thanks starghadeer! You are a fountain of info!
