I am applying to Sacramento State for Spring 2015. I still need to take Physio and a few misc. classes like food and nutrition, an arts course, and a english critical thinking course. What I am wondering is this: If I were to take Physio during the summer, got an A lets say, would Sac consider me over other applicants because I have completed all my pre-reqs and co-reqs? I have a 4.0 right now. I am debating whether I should take this Physio summer class at a JC an hour away because the professor is better than the one I would be taking in the fall at a closer JC. Let me know what you think!

I am planning on applying to Sac State for the spring 2015 too. I believe you have to have all the pre-reqs done at the time of application. Co-reqs do not have to be completed but if they are, the grade will factor in to your GPA. If not, I think the website said it will not negatively affect your chances of getting in. So it seems like having co-reqs done won't necessarily help you but it will be good to not have to worry about taking them later. And with a 4.0 you seem to be in really good shape :) Good luck!

I believe futurenurseshelly is correct. I'll be applying for Spring 2015 at Sac State, also!!!

Let's inspire each other! We can do it!!

Thank you for your replies! Have you both completed all your pre-reqs? On the website it says: "One science and one non-science prerequisite course, two total, may be in progress in spring when applying for fall; fall when applying for spring."

What I' m wondering is if having all my pre-reqs completed before the application period will give me a better chance of getting in. Hope that we will be classmates together come spring!

I don't think having all pre reqs completed will give you a better chance. It's all based on the number of points you have and I don't think they will process your points until all in progress pre reqs are completed by December.

I hope we can all be classmates together too! We can do it! Is anyone planning on attending the advising session on Thursday?

Also, yes I've completed all my pre reqs but my GPA is not the best. I need to do pretty well on the teas I think

Your points are calculated based on a grade point average. Whether you have a few or a lot of prereqs, your average is what they look at. I will have Ochem in progress.

I can't attend the advising session due to work. )-:

I'm in the same boat regarding the TEAS! I need a high score!

SacState goes solely on points. There is no benefit to having everything done versus someone needing to take some classes.

i would love to apply to sac states program. any body know if they have an LVN to RN program their

Not currently... They only have RN to BSN in addition to the nursing program.

Hey everyone! The application opening date is coming up quickly! Eeek. I have a question regarding official transcripts. I went to an info session a while back and I have a recollection of them saying that they only take paper transcripts, not electronically sent ones, but I can't find it written down anywhere. Does anyone know if that is true or if I can send electronic transcripts?

Futurenurseshelly....

You have to have Official, Sealed, paper transcripts sent from every college you have attended. I know it seems a bit picky but that is what they want.
