I haven't worked at Mayo but have been there many times as a patient in the past. Could you stand to wear white every day? I can't. The patients at Mayo are kind of spoiled and that might burn you out. On the positive side, Mayo has great benefits and a retirement system set up. There are few places that still offer REAL retirement benefits.

I have done clinics at Banner T-bird in tele, both in the neuro and the cardiac. My father and husband have been hospitalized in both places too. The positive at Banner is they have good pt/nurse ratios in tele. 1:4

Good luck, let us know which one you decide on!

hi!

well, i got offers from both. i worked 5 months during the day (a few of those months on a busy telemetry floor). i decided to take the job at mayo. i know the white scrubs are going to be very annoying to keep clean but to me it'll be worth it--being that my fiance works in their ICU and will be on nights too. i'm a night owl so i think it will be a good fit. also, they're starting me in their new grad program so in theory i'll get lots of orientation....

wish me luck!

;)

Congrats! I am sure you will get a good orientation at Mayo. I wouldn't mind working there except for that white ;)

Hey, yeah, congrats on the new job. I was wondering what you had decided. Good Luck and I hope this is the one for you. I was reading your other post in the "first year" forum and all I can say is "DITTO". :uhoh3: Keep us updated!

BTW- you look good in white. I remember your grad pics. My hubby was like "she's hot". ;)

anyway, the pay is super good (6 buck night dif $24-$26 an hour!!!)

so, i'm going shopping now at old navy to celebrate! (they have a clearance sale going on right now--cute tanks for $3.97!!!!)

thank you guys for all the good wishes and advice!

(i'll let you know how it goes--once i become "mayo-nized") hahaha:lol2:
