Summer Classes

U.S.A. Arizona

Anyone taking science classes over the summer? If so, what and where are you taking them? Also, was anyone able to avoid taking Bio 156 if you didn't have it in high school?

I am taking Bio 201 during Summer I and Chm 130 during Summer II. Anyone ever double up like that over the summer? I would really like to apply for the Banner Fellowhship for March 2009. Any positive feedback is welcome.

Thanks!

HCR 230 is Culture and health and is a pre-req to get into ASU's upper division (Nursing School)

PGS350 is Social health and is not required; however, it replaces the grade I received in Psy 101 which is required (a B 10 years ago)

So are you trying for both the Maricopa Community Colleges and ASU or just ASU?

Just ASU. I will probably be done before I even get accepted to MCCC. Although I am in the midst of rethinking everything right now and may change majors :) I will probably decide next week. I am applying for spring '09 start for ASU. To date, with the exception of psy101 (which I took 10 years ago) i have a critical path GPA of 4.0, so as long as I take PGS 350 (And get an A) that should hold. Then do well on the NET and I'm in......But like I said, I may change directions. We'll see :)

What major are you thinking of changing to?

I just registered yesterday for Summer I and Fall

Summer I Bio 201 (in person) and Psy 101 (online)

Then apply to the program through the CC's.

Fall Bio 202 and Anthropology class for humanities.

Chandler Gilbert Community College had a meeting last Friday with ASU at the Williams campus regarding the bridge program. After finishing the program through one of the CC's, I am going to apply to the ASU bridge which they stated will be one year.

On the ASU nursing website, there is a tab called the Alliance. The describe the bridge program there.

I wish I could afford to go directly through with the BSN but at this time, financially, it is best for me to go through the community college.

Good luck everyone!

That's cool you get to register already. I have to wait.

I totally understand about not going straight for a BSN first. The Bridge program sounds good.

Good Luck

I took Bio in Highschool Bio & A&P and still had to do Bio156.

Anyone ever test out of Bio 156? Was it a tough exam?

I didn't personally (didn't even try) but from what GCC told me, some people that tested out did poorly in A&P....so I am going to take it regardless.....

I was told within the past two weeks that I cannot test out of Bio156. I wanted to try to test out of 156 and Mat122, but they told me I cannot. They said either I need it from high school or I have to take it to get into Bio201. Anyone heard differently?
