Patient Care Technician Program

U.S.A. Arizona

I was wondering if anyone knew where to get their Patient Care Technician certification? I found one at Phoenix College, but I have already missed their recent start date and the next class they are holding I will have a brand new baby! :)

I will be getting my CNA soon and want to continue on the path while I am waiting to start nursing school. I have "googled" online but no luck so far. I appreciate any assistance.

Thank you!

I know at JCL, you hire on as a CNA and they offer the PCT training while you're on the job.

I did PCT training OTJ too. Save your $$ and try to find a place that offers this...

Specializes in Telemetry, ICU, Psych.

I went through the Phoenix College PCT program and LOVED it!!! Realistically, though, many jobs will train you to do those skills (although you may not learn the specific reasons behind them for a while). Almost every ER tech is trained to draw blood, do EKG's, and basic lab processing. I would shoot for one of those jobs.

Good luck!

I am the type of person who wants to know the "why" behind things. I feel the PCT program would be a great match for me. How was the workload? Was it extremely intense? I appreciate your feedback and thank you for sharing your experience!

Well with gas being the way it is and JCL so far and not seeing maybe hospitals closer hiring CNA's down here I may be looking for the PCT route through Phoenix college myself. $500 isn't too bad of a cost for the program. I paid $400 for my CNA and although I reallllllly want to start NS NOW... I am wondering if I am shooting myself in the foot by even thinking about the Private Schools at this point. I really don't want to start out with huge debt!! Besides being able to get a jump on SOOO much more of the Nursing Skills as a PCT should make NS easier :D plus being on staff... more money towards school !!
