HI -

Sorry if this is a repeat topic, but hoping to "meet" other applicants hoping to start their online university classes in Fall 2017 and CC in-person nursing blocks in Spring 2018.

Hey everyone! I got accepted into NAU fall 2017 and spring EMCC. I applied to NAU but still haven't received an invite to orientation which will be on

July 21 or 22. Has anyone going to NAU received an invitation?

Also I know the last nursing advisor for emcc left, I'm not who the new advisor is? I've been receiving emails from a Heather Edwards, not sure if she is just filling in temporarily. It's nice to meet all the other students in advance.

For those that got accepted into Glendale Community College, when is orientation?

Thanks.

Are you going to start this fall or spring with GCC?

At GCC it would be Spring. I didn't know if they included an orientation date or anything in the email that was sent out.

Probably not. You will get a date probably towards the middle of fall semester. It will probably be held in December.

Specializes in Neuro.

Mrs. Bookworm's right, I got my acceptance email from GCC for Fall Start (summer university start) in February, but we didn't get the official gcc orientation info email till last week. Closer to start they'll email you.

How is everyone enjoying the online classes?

They are going okay so far ! I am currently in a writing class :/ I an not a fan of writing at all !!! How are tours?

It sounds as if the writing class is a pretty standard first class with every University - so we are not alone!! I'm doing writing too. You're with ASU, correct? How have you found them so far?

So far so good. I'm with UIU and started an elective course this past Monday. I wanted to take something to familiarize myself with their online classroom before the more difficult courses begin. I start critical thinking in October, which I hear can be quite time consuming. Good luck everyone! Block 1 is right around the corner!!

That's a good idea - what elective did you choose? Yes, we're taking critical thinking/English Lang right now, and it is time consuming although very interesting~!

I spent the first week hopelessly lost on the website so I know how you feel!

I am currently taking a computer science course. It teaches some intricate details about common programs like word and excel and then touches on some audio and video editing and I believe it will touch on programming. Since technology is so prevalent it seemed like a good choice and was highly recommended by my advisor. I was going to take critical thinking first, but apparently UIU has a version more specific to nursing majors which was not available until October. Their online classroom really has been quite user friendly so far, just very different from canvas - which I know quite well.
