HESI and COMPASS tests

U.S.A. Arizona

Is there anyone that can tell me about what to expect in taking these two tests? Especially the math area? Do the study guides really prepare you?

I don't know what the COMPASS test is, never heard of it.

The HESI is strictly a nursing test. I can't imagine schools making you take HESI for entrance.........there is no way to pass it if you haven't taken nursing yet. It is taken in preparation to take the real NCLEX test.

The NET test is used for entrance in Maricopa County - at least back in 2003/2004 when I took it. There is a preparatory book for it but I don't know the name of it. I just brushed up on algebra from a text book and did OK in the math.

Thanks! And how have you been by the way?

Yes, the school I am looking at is requiring the HESI and surprising, as you stated it is for nursing. Im surprised too. Im not sure how they expect us to pass it unless we just study the HESI guide and try to pass that way. COuld there be a HESI entrance exam? I will ask the next time I talk to the school.....

i took the COMPASS already. It was EASY just like the community college placement tests you may have taken before taking an english or math class when starting college if you've done some pre-reqs. as for the HESI I am taking that one too.

There is a HESI entrance exam. I've taken it. It's called the HESI A2.

It's not about passing or not. It's about achieving a high enough score to beat other applicants applying to your prospective nursing school. I scored over 90% in all categories, and didn't think it was all that hard, but I hear the average test-taker scores at about 50% in most categories.

I purchased the official study guide online from the company that produces the HESI A2. I don't have a link for it, I'm sorry. The exam really does closely follow the official study guide.

My Hesi entrance exam covered things like math, reading, A&P and nutrition.

All stuff that was covered in your pre-reqs...

This reminds me. I did miss some math questions about household conversions. I still don't know household thingies like how many pint = gallon = cup = for example.
